Anyone want an X DVD?

Post by klet »

I've had no end of trouble with a certain seller on half.com (ebay's sister site) who sent me the wrong DVD. :? I filed a claim and half.com refunded me my shipping charge. :x Now the seller won't answer my emails, and I don't have the time to call up half.com.

Basically, half.com threatens to cut off your buying/selling powers if you do a charge-back on one of your orders, and I buy all of my textbooks there, so I'd rather not risk that right now. I just want to get my money back any way possible. :l

So, anywhoo, I've got X: The TV Series Vol. 1 up for grabs. It's brand new, still in its plastic wrapping, and comes with the limited edition slip case (a black case with a big "X" in red on the front; only fits on one DVD).

$15.25 and free first class shipping and delivery confirmation.

While I'm at it, does anyone actually want a couple of those limited edition slip cases? I've got one for Vol. 3 and one for Vol. 6. I'd only charge like $1 plus exact shipping. Since I don't have them all, I don't really care about the ones I have. :P

Actually, I might have it for 1. Vol 1 is my "Christmas present" from my sister. :D I'll check when I go home today.

If no one contacts me by tomorrow, I'll just have to run the chargeback and risk not being able to buy text books next semester. :(

Stupid people don't even have contact information for me to use to complain. Rat (*^$&^*.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the seller is asha-v. :x She basically accused me of trying to cheat her and refused to give me all of my money back when she was the one who screwed up. Why should I eat her costs when she sent me the wrong thing? :x She wanted me to do more than that, too. I know how much it costs to send one DVD via media mail, and it isn't what she was charging. Plus, she wanted me to pay her fees, which half.com would have refunded. :x

Thanks guys.

The way I see it, if I did something like this as a seller, I'd refund the money completely and eat the costs myself--so I expect the same courtesy from someone else.

Now, I sent her another email, telling her that I'll probably be doing a chargeback on this transaction, and to send me her address so I can send the DVD back to her (it's been over two months so I have no idea where the envelope that it came in is). I told her that if she doesn't reply within a month, I am going to sell the thing on Ebay. Maybe that will get her to actually talk to me. :x

If it's been that long, I doubt she'll attempt to resolve the transaction with you. She's obviously not a professional seller. You'll probably have to take whatever steps are necessary and not count on her assistance, unfortunately. Good luck!

Yeah, I figure as much. :( She might actually send me her address if half.com yanks some money from her, though.

Vol. 6 slipcase is on hold.

Leah, my sis says that the vol. 1 she got me for Christmas has the slip case, but she already wrapped it, so you'll have to wait until after the 25th. :P

Here's a website that lists the customer service #'s for a bunch of companies (including Half.com):

http://www.dvdtalk.com/csr.html

Hopefully you'll be able to reach a live-person through that and get some help  Good luck in getting all this resolved, klet ^_^

Woah, totally missed these last two replies! 8O

Thanks for the link, Ralph! The seller finally contacted me. All it took was three emails and a charge-back to get her to do so. :x

Here's how she replied to me:

"Well it is about time, since Half.com refunded the shipping fee to you a month ago so that you could return it to me. If you had followed their procedure you already would have received your refund. I don't understand why you are acting so outraged, when all you had to do was follow the rules. I was willing to give you the refund and I did what was necessary to get it initiated for you at Half.com. You are the one who did not follow up, so the transaction could not be completed. Can you go to Target and expect them to give your money back for a return that you promise to hand over at a later date? No. They get the item and then you get your money. "

Then she sent me her address. :x This is the kind of tone she's taken this whole time. :x I'm not going to wait for her to refund me, though. I'm going through with the charge-back.
