Your purpose is Lord of the Rings fans httpwww dotyoutubedot comwatch.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
-I, Robot (Asimov)
Whether it be satire or truth, the fact that he said it makes him an ass in my book. It put quite the pit in my stomach, and I can stomach a lot.wELCOME cONSUMER wrote:Penn's point about the monkeys and the AIDS infected junkie could be taken two ways: satire or truth. If he was being satirical, the irony is pretty clear. If he was being honest, his point would be that those deaths would actually have a purpose (animal testing = sacrifice for the advancement of medical science). Unlike PETA destroying so many animals with no purpose. PETA's very nature is to undermine the laboratories and companies who use animals for the sake of saving someone like the AIDS infected junkie (sticking with the controversial example Penn cited) but they are simultaneously undoing progress as well as needlessly destroying animals with their own acts. How is that even logical?
Believe me, I have no love for PETA what-so-ever. Until recently, I have had to deal with them holding their annual fundraiser at the restaurant I manage and have gotten into many an argument with several of their members over the years. Almost lost my job over it.
I believe it does matter who you have representing the anti-PETA cause.
Your stamping a face and a voice and that voice's POV onto that cause.
Since you put it such a non-condescending way, here ya go:Okuni wrote:So, that said, let's get back to the youtube clips. 'Kay, thanks.

My father in law survived prostate cancer because of methods refined by animal testing. Just about anyone with a medical aliment of some sort has animal testing to thank for their prolonged and comfortable life. That's just the sad fact of the matter.transmet wrote:Whether it be satire or truth, the fact that he said it makes him an ass in my book.
I'm not a huge fan of animal testing, all the same. I don't think anyone really celebrates it, but we understand its role. Penn's point was meant to be blunt. Essentially, if it came down to it, I think a lot of people would choose human life over an animal's. I think that's what he was driving at. The work done by PETA is not the romantic, honorable paradigm they claim it to be. That was the whole point of the BS episode.
It doesn't matter who represents the movement because you can't please everyone. Anyone who steps up to the plate will have skeletons in their closet or be hated by some group or other. That stuff is subjective and ultimately irrelevant to the issues. If Rush Limbaugh were the voice against PETA, I'd hate him but still condone the message. Hating someone doesn't make their point any less valid.

OK what would you like to talk about?

This is an old AIR music video that was done some years ago.
It was English fansubbed later by Bishoujo Fansubs. I'm not sure how long ago I first seen this. It seems like it was about four years ago. But I'm sure it was at least three and a half years ago since I had to track down an old post I made to be able to find the title of it to find it on You Tube.
This music video has SPOILER game pics in it. I don't think they're HUGE spoilers since I watched it a long time ago and still didn't know exactly what was going on. But if you don't want to see SPOILERS please don't click it:

This is another great I've Sound song that I've always liked. Even though the song was created for another game, I think it works very well with the AIR game pictures shown. The song feels like it's crying out to the heavens.
Now that I've seen the AIR anime and know what it all means, the video has a lot more meaning to me.

I'm surprised that klet hasn't linked to her favorite music video yet.
Yatta!
Might be considered NSFW...in fact, it's pretty much just wrong and should
probably not be viewed by anyone anywhere.
If saying that doesn't get people to click on it, I don't know what will.

Oh...and in case you wonder what it would be like as a anime music video.Keropi wrote:That Yatta video is pretty funny. That video came as part of a Japanese/Korean music video download pack that I got sometime back.![]()

The word "Kannon" has something to do with Buddhist statues:

Here is a You Tube Kanon (2006) OP parody based off of this "Kannon" word:

I don't think Kanon's music goes along very well with these First of the North Star anime clips:

to as many as possible. I hadn't seen the original video before the AMV, but
I still enjoyed it. After seeing the original, I got a new appreciation for it.

I'll quote Dennis Miller on this subject:
"I don't know what hooking a gorillas nuts to a car battery has to do with science, but if the results could save my life...sorry Cocoa, been nice signin with you."
I honestly think Penn Jilette is a bit obnoxious, but that's his schtick. Either way, it should not detract from the valid points made in the piece. PETA is a vile, hypocritical organization that should not be allowed to get away with domestic terrorism in the guise of charitable works.

Virtual Reality. As psychologically damaging as it is funny. You'll laugh and be disturbed all at the same time. Enjoy!

I fail to see it as "wholesome family entertainment." The work, similar to
Huck Finn, addresses mature themes that young minds can't fully understand.
OMG!!!! That is just brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read WD as a teenager, in fact we took it in grade 7, and I loved it!! I think it's more for older children, and I think you're supposed to be disturbed, since it shows how much man can change and effect the behaviour of animals. The Plague Dogs was much more disturbing to me than Watership, and I still have trouble watching that film.
Or, maybe I'm just a dark person.
