Post Delivered on Sunday!?

Post by EternityOfPain »

Alright so it was a normal Sunday, I wake up, brush my teeth and head downstairs to eat some breakfast. (At this time its around 10:45 AM?) so anyways i hear the doorbell ring so I go and open it. Low and behold... Its..... The postman!?! Yes.. Indeed it was the postman deliverying a package. At the time I didn't realize this and simply took my nice EMS package (full of sketches) and signed the papers and came in. Then.. I realized. Isn't it Sunday? I check the Calander and guess what? I see its cleary Sunday. So in the end I am very happy that I got my sketches a day early but at the same time have always been taught (since childhood) that there is "no post on sunday" I know in other countries (like Japan) they occasional delivery on Sunday..

So after my nice long drawn out post I was wondering if anyone else has had there EMS or package from japan delivered on Sunday?

EMS, once it reaches the US, counts as Express Mail, which is delivered on Sundays. I've had cels delivered on Sunday a few times.

Yep, me too.

If it's EMS I usually get a call on Sunday morning if I want to pick up my package at the main office. (Unfortunately, the postman doesn't drive out this far on Sundays.)

I think EMS delivers on holidays as well. But I know that the mailman won't bring it on a Sunday, he'll hold it for Monday.

Yep! I've had EMS delivered on Sundays and holidays, too. We live a few blocks from the distribution center, where our mail goes before it heads to the post office that services our area. On a Sunday or holiday, someone from the distribution center brings it, as opposed to our regular mail carrier. Yet another reason why I looove EMS -- even though it's expensive. :D

Congrats on getting some new sketches, EOP!

Sadly, I live in the boonies, so the EMS gets delivered ASAP to the local PO, which gets it to me ... well ... whenever they find it convenient. I had a bunch of Mandarake sketches arrive in the area on Dec. 23, and it sat over there over Sunday and Christmas, and got to me just about sunset on Dec. 26, as the carrier made his regular delivery.

Still, it was nice to get it about a month ahead of my SMJ winnings of the same week.
