1) Yes, I have several complete cuts which include genga, douga, Layout, rough and retouched sketches etc. I might be willing to scan some in for you but you would have to specify which sketch in question in my gallery you are interested in. If this is the case please send me a link of 5-6 sketches of mine and I will pick one and completely all the genga, douga, layout, rough etc of that certain piece I have. Also specify what type of image format, size etc. Also when it has to be done by and i will see if i can fit in my my schedule.

2) I have several complete sets of douga on my site as well as complete sets of sketches. If you choose to use them please let me know.

I have a really top notch presentation that was assembled by sensei. It is in powerpoint form and was intended for presentation at AX06, but we ran out of time as I also had a guest speaker, Ron Stark, from SR Labs giving a presentation on cel restoration/preservation. If it is OK with him, I could burn you a copy and mail it.

In addition, if you are interested, can you can use some of the images in my gallery if you would like. I have a nice animated gif of Hayate's henshin sequence from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha if you need to show what the assembled sketches can look like.

I have a couple A1ends that have background, layout, genga, douga too. I might have a complete cel sequence too, but have to wait for it to arrive from my deputy before confirming (can't quite tell from the seller's pic).

You're welcome to glom anything you want off of my website, including the reanimated gifs that Vampyreshoujo did of my dougas from Inuyasha, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, and Saiyuki. It's delisted right now because of some fairly extensive refurbishing, but clicking the "www" button below will get you into the construction workers' side door.

And I'd be happy to send you a copy of the PowerPoint on sketches that I did for Otakon and upgraded for Craig's AX panel (which ran out of time so it wasn't used there). Just PM me a mailing address and I'll get it out to you.

It needs some further upgrading, in the light of the latest generation of genga-less, douga-less CGI animation, but it will cover what's now becoming recognized as the golden age of anime.

Good luck! And let us how it goes.

wowowowowow...
I go away from the site for 1 day and when I get back, I'm just overloaded with offers! thanks so much all. I will be browsing over the many, many, many (did I say many?) offers early next week as I have another deadline looming (for my other love, anime music videos) and I'll get back to you all in what I'd like to use!

Again, thanks so much all!

holy necroposting Batman!

gah - procrastination.... this is what happens when life gets in the way of living it - you do stuff at the last minute :o

well, it's 3 weeks to the convention and only now am I getting around to actually putting this panel together! :) I've carefully soured all the links you've provided me (thank you all again so much!) and I just wanted to also let the owners know that I'm 'borrowing' items from their site:

Nene - I know you didn't respond to this thread, but there are a few items I'd like to use off of your site. I will PM you to see if it's okay

Guyvar III - I'm like totally thankful for your Betterman series of images -> it is making my whole discussion of the process of how a cel goes from layout to production cel so much better and informative! And might use the Ordian looped cels / genga (but its sorta scary-looking when I have it up on the big screen)

aernath - I'm very glad of your bleach obsession. The two hankens you have are excellent examples of this cel type! Thanks for the use of them!

EternityOfPain - loopy loopy gengas! Yesh, something else to wow the audiences with! I'd like your permission to use one or both of them (not sure which will make the final cut but wanted to ask anyway).

I think that's most of the people I've pillaged images from (well, not everyone, but mostly - there are a few who I know I'm leaving out - sorries in advance if I have). I will be posting a preview of the panel hopefully in the next few days - if some of you could poke your noses into it to make sure I'm not making an ass of myself by talking 'black' when it should be 'white' I'd apprecate a heads up :)

Thanks all again and here's hoping that this will be completed soon!

momo - thanks for the heads up! I think I have enough research info on what to talk about - I just gotta write it all now :)

Oh, and does anyone have a scanned example of a mid-sequence key cel that has it's sequence number circled? I sure don't... any help in this would be greatly appreciated!

i have some (short) TLU genga sequences (fully animated, but they are roughly 10-20 sketches per set), not sure if this is what you're looking for...? i sent you a PM... :D

these sequences are for sale, by the way....

My egotistical self saw my name earlier. o.o!

But as a heads up, I have a Nene cel that's midsequence and is a key. Actually I have two from the same sequence that aren't beginning or end and are key cels... I think it's because they're close-ups that they used the key animator. ^_^

Anime Cel Panel 101 - beta release
[note]
FYI to all of you who are downloading this - two areas that might need a little explaining:
1. on the third page, there is black image - this is actually a movie file showing a 2 second clip of anime at real-time speed and then a frame by frame progression of the 19 frames that make up that clip to explain what a cel is.
2. on page 16, that actually is a moving GIF image showing the sequence and hence it's relavence to that sheet!

[/note]

Okay gang, finally finished this beta (as in not the final final, but the prefinal) just now at my lunch hour :) Above is a yousendit.com link of my intended presentaion as a big ol' PDF file (well, 38 pages, and about 6 megs in size). I think I've covered all the bases that any newbie would need to know - I'm asking anyone and everyone who is interested to take a look-see and see if I have any:
1. factual errors
2. opinions on my opinions
3. sage words of advice that should be added, taken out, or explained

Oh, and I think I asked a majority of you whose cel-imagery I used for this presentation for permission - however I know that there are a few that I did not (like the Hanken cel and a few others). If these are your cels and you object to me using them, please let me know and I wil try and find a replacement for it. If I missed you, I'm sorry but I'm currently on a tight schedule as this convention is in 2 weeks and I have other responsibilites to manage prior to it as well.

Anyway, wanted to thank you all for all the effort and help that you've put into this project for my convention! I've had a lot of people volunteer so much help, it is overwhelming and I just wanted to extend my thanks to all!

Please, if you can, let me know what you think about the presentation!
