I don't have an iPod but I do have an MP3 player. Nothing huge or fancy... A simple Sony Walkman Psyc. I use it alot since I work and am awake nights... it seems more polite to the neighbors to use the MP3 player than cranking up stero speakers. :P

Yes, I have an iPod. Bought it around 2004, though, so it's not in color and I can't watch videos X| I like to listen to it when on trips, and sometimes I hook it up to my computer, because it saves space in that I don't have to keep all those songs on my harddrive.

I got a car adapter for Christmas but I'm having a hard time getting it to work.

You know why. I've been meaning to blog about that, too. Gotta let people know the happy endings to my crappy problems. :D

I have an Ipod! Gotta work on getting all of my songs on it, though.

BTW, were you able to find the one you lost the other month? Or did you have to get a new one?

I don't own an ipod, mp3 player or even a stereo. I listen to music usually on my computer or throw a CD in the car when I'm not listening to traffic reports.

ipod

i have a nano and an ipod. it's a really long story of how i got both.

anyway...

i use the nano more than the pod because it's easier to store in my backpack and there's less liklihood of my damaging it if it's in its case. i only use it to listen to music while i am studying at our university's computer center or during my lunchbreak at work.

i try not to be rude or disrupting or showy when i use it; however, i notice other students doing exactly that by trying to blast off their eardrums. *ouch*

it's just a "mind escape" for me sometimes. :)

After saving up all my Christmas tips this year I was able to afford the MP3 player I had my eyes on for several months, the Creative Labs 60gb Zen Vision: M.
I needed a player that had tons of functions, would reproduce the sound how I liked and was technically superior to the equivalent iPod. Plus I refused to buy the biggest branded Apple machine for the sake of fashion anyway :P

My aim is to upload 95% of the CDs in my collection, the stuff I actually listen to. This 60gb player can handle it and the 4341 tracks [420 albums] I've currently uploaded account for a third of my collection- so it's progressing well!
At the moment I use it at work whilst delivering mail and it's brilliant because it keeps me moving to a rhythm and I feel more inspired listening to the music I love. I don't have noise-cancelling earphones so when people talk to me I can still hear them and don't remove the buds from my ears. [They have clips that secure them around my ears so it's awkward to remove them every 10mins anyway].

Although MP3 players are a good way to enjoy music in short bursts, I could never elevate their importance above live music or proper [loud] external speakers because I like to 'feel' the music physically as a subwoofer pounds the air around me. Can't get that with headphones.

My only concern with the player is the life of the internal battery as Shampers mentions- I hope it doesn't die on me too early. That's why I'm holding back from registering the player- if I wait a couple more months and say I bought it then, I may be covered for a free replacement battery if it messes up within 15 months.

I need to get the new iPod Shuffe. Mine died! It helps in class when you want to study and zone people out.
