mobile phones

Post by ginga123 »

i've had a mobile phone since i was at least 17 or 18 yrs old.

i mostly use it for emergency contact in case of an accident nowadays; but, it's also nice to have a personal phone number so your family can't pry into your affairs. :)

i get most of my talking done before i get home anyway^^.

Been using cell phones for about 6 years. Senor and I are cell phone buddies. We always get the same phone with our plans and contract renewals. Typically nothing fancy, I always go for the freebies. Senor has the upgraded version of the freebie.

Don't have a land line, no reason to. We do have a pseudo phone number for the phone company, since we have DSL and a home security system. But there's no phone attached to it. As far as the cell goes, I don't answer numbers that are anonymous, blocked or numbers I don't recognize. Life is much more peaceful without a land line. :x I hate solicitations.

I've had the same cellphone for 2.5 years. Got it when I started college. I've been meaning to upgrade since it's starting to crap out on me. :x

Heh. Around election time, I was getting 3-4 recorded messages a day on my cellphone. They even left me messages a couple of times!!! Never listened to it long enough to figure out which party was trying to make me vote for them.

I've been with Cingular for about three years now(Sprint was a nightmare). Got this phone about six months ago. It got Cnet's highest rating, so I checked it out and liked it.

I also use Vonage, which is a dream. Great clarity, cheap international rates, and only $27 a month.

I hear you on Sprint. Try quitting their service, they won't let you. It was a very difficult and annoying process. The people were extremely rude and even hung up on us on more than one occasion. Cingular (now at&t) is a much better choice.

Stephen Colbert explains it better than I do.

That's a real shame Klet :O I rarely have that kind of trouble, save for a random wrong number but I never answer those. If you manage to have the same service and phone number long enough, then you're able to eliminate most of the crap. Never giving out your real number when they ask for at stores and stuff helps too.

I don't have a phone or a watch. :shrug

One woman thought I was being rude when I told her I didn't have either after she asked me what time it was. :O

I've owned cell phones for 12 years now. I don't remember how many I've had. My cell phone is my only phone. I don't have a landline.

My mom took the liberty of adding my cell number to the 'Do Not Call' list after a person left a message on my voicemail trying to sell me something. I haven't received a single unwanted call since! :D

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same way, which is why I got a phone with a keyboard. One of my best friends lives in another state so we often text each other when one of us is out of town. We both happen to have unlimited text and picture messaging which is more convenient than eating up our minutes talking. You should definitely invest in a cell phone!

I didn't have one before Spouzal Unit gave me my current phone, because it bugs the living crud out of me to see people walking around in crowds with these things plastered to their ears. Call me Scrooge.

What I forgot to mention, though, is that I did drop the long distance plan on the landline after I got this. Cell phone only now. And it's saved us a pile of money. Me like that...

What can I say? I'm an 80's child! LOL

We don't have a landline either. We are actually saving a lot more by using the cell phone only than just a BASIC home phone....Something is wrong there. :shrug
