Question about US Naruto DVDs

Post by duotrouble »

I hope I picked the right place to ask this. But if I didn't, mods do your thing.

Anyway, has anyone purchased the US release of the Naruto boxsets? I'm wondering if they are worth getting or if another boxset is going to be released with more than just 13 episodes. Also, are they the thin DVD cases, the regular sized ones or special casing?

Thanks! :)

Yes, I support anime and BUY the series I love! 8)

As far as I know they are the thin DVD cases the regular sized ones or special casing.

I have bought both boxed sets one and two and plan on getting the others as they release. I really think they're worth buying. I also got the special edition set which comes with some various village items. The first set featured the leaf village items and the second contained stuff from the sand village. The casing is different, it comes in like a fold out box. I hope that helps. I can take some pictures for you later if you'd like. :)

Generally speaking, the longer you wait, the lower the price goes and the more compact the package gets. So, if you wait, there will probably be thin-case packaging with more than 13 eps/box. However, that could be years away. I doubt that they'll re-release them for a few years, but who knows?

I bought both the boxsets of the Uncut DVDs. I was a big geek about all of it, and didn't consider buying them until Shonen Jump sent me a free preview DVD of the uncut episodes. I did compare them to my fansubs, and I was quite pleased, so I bought the sets.

QS is right... they aren't the slim casing or the regular sized DVD boxes. It's a foldout, similar to what you would get if you bought the HK rips. I don't think that they're planning on coming out with any larger box sets for the Uncut, only the dubbed. The 13 episodes don't really bother me. The two boxsets together make up the first season, and the total cost was a little less than some complete season sets I've bought.

Hope this helps.
