Dear trunks_311,

You recently listed the following listing:

160082714655 - Inuyasha Sketch Genga - not cel - Baby Inuyasha
160082712742 - Inuyasha Layout Sketch Genga - not cel - Chibi Inuyasha

The listing was removed because it violated the eBay Keyword Spamming policy. The violation occurred when you included the following information in your listing:

In title... not cel

All fees related to this listing have been credited to your account. We also notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has
been canceled.
Have you ever heard of something so STUPID! I relisted, but I was not happy that I had bidders that all got cancelled out. :kaioken Here's to you eBay! :flipa

That is absolute bullshit :tongue :flipa

Yea.. its spam when you write in that a genga is
not a cel in the title..

but its totally a-okay to write the name of
4-5 series so it pops up under diff searches
:ok:

Sorry this happened to ya Angela.. that is just
f---king absurd.

Man that's irritating! I can't believe they are so retarded for not realizing that we are a small community of cel colletors who often list sketches as not cel so that collectors can see your sketches as well when they are searching for cels of their favorite anime. DUH We know that they aren't a cel, but they ARE cel related...ebay must be hiring people who don't have a whole heck of a lot to do...their customer service stinks when it comes to important things like getting our money back from bad sellers!!!

All I did was take out the word NOT and removed the hyphen. We'll see what happens now.

Maybe we should say cel related, instead of not cel?

I agree, this is a stupid policy... but I can see ebay's point, too. I also agree that listing unrelated series in titles is annoying. I never found "not cel" annoying, though... as long as it is production related.

It's technically a violation, so there's not any grounds for appeal. However, you could easily get around it by thinking about how this happened. They don't review every auction, but I'm sure that they have a script that flags certain keywords for them to be reviewed. And one of those keywords is probably " not ". If you didn't include that, I doubt your auction would ever be looked at (unless someone reported it). I notice that a lot of people will list "cel sketch" instead of "sketch not cel"..and I'm sure that it's for that reason.

As for Shampoo's 4-5 series thing, I hate that as well. But it's much harder to both flag that in an automatic checker as well as determine that it's wrong unless you're familiar with the product. So, much harder for eBay to enforce that.

I think in the production art collecting world, saying something is NOT a cel in the listing title is quite helpful, but in the general online auction world I can see why a title including what the item isn't would be a problem.

A good (although non-eBay example of this) is YouTube videos. Have any of you done a search only to get a list of video after video that has nothing to do with your search because the tags list what the video is not? Users do it simply to get as many views as possible, but it basically makes the search function useless. Can you imagine if eBay's search feature was totally inaccurate?

Goldknight was simply trying to give out helpful info in the title, but honestly I'm glad eBay is on top of issues like this. Still, it's unfortunate innocent sellers like GK sometimes get caught in eBay's wide policy net needed to maintain accurate searches.
Clever is as clever does.

kymaera & Megan summed it up pretty well. It stinks that your auctions were delisted. Removing the word "not" should be fine tho. Almost everything on eBay is automated, rarely do people get involved unless an auction is reported by an eBay member. Good luck with the relisted items.

I hear ya. I do understand what they are trying to prevent. I don't agree with how they do it. I just wish I had received a warning so I could change the auction instead of having to create it from scratch. I guess like you said though a computer is just closing them when stuff shows up. What a hassle though. Thanks for letting me vent y'all. :D

Sad thing is people would have abused the warning system ruining it for everyone.

And why do pretty cels always come up before I get paid :(

What I don't understand is why the auctions are not just cancelled, why completely delete them too? It's irritating to start over from square one. Why punish the seller even more? It'd be nice if they gave second chances. :?

See, that's exactly why I refuse to upgrade from a personal PP account. They pulled the same crap on me a little over a year ago because I said that I couldn't take cc PP payments in my listings. Had they given me an automatic warning, I would have gladly upgraded my account and they would have made about $15 off of me in the past year. :P Instead, I give people the option of PP after the action when I can explain that I only have a personal account.

Maybe it didn't like the hyphens. :? Mine are listed saying "not cel" but there's no hyphen. I never received an email. Strange!

That sounds like what I'd been doing...after having the same exact experience. Except I finally realized I'm allowed to have two Paypal accounts, and unfortunately, premier paypal does make international payments much easier... X|

In a perfect world, there would be more viable payment alternatives, and eBay would have never owned Paypal.... :D

Y'all crack me up. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had issues. You are lucky DT. Maybe it is the hyphen. :P
