I thought I had commented here. :? Now after reading this, I have to comment here. Since you already know what I think of your update, I'm commenting about your quote.

I don't think it's silly at all that you are emotionally drained. When my dog eventually dies, I'm sure no one here will here from me in at least a month, maybe more. My dog means more to me than a companion or pet. My dog IS my child. Last weekend, he fell down the stairs. He and I were going downstairs together and he slipped. All I could do was watch him fall helplessly. I cried hard for the next hour calling my best friend on the phone at 2:30am. She never once fussed about the time. I was there when her cat of 18 years died. She felt stupid for being so upset but then commented that her cat was her life. (And yes, at the time she had 2 other cats as well as a boyfriend. Her comment was more her cat was her baby/child.)

I cried reading about Tex. Please know my thoughts are with you. :friends: If you need anything, just ask. :friends:

OMG texy!! I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I do not really know what to say. I have been there before but it never makes it any easier to hear that so I will just give you a hug and a shoulder to cry on if you ever need one.

Oh Tex-chan I am so sorry that Tex died. I remember that you had written about him being sick recently too. I have 11 pets ( temporarilly 12 if you count the dog I saved from freezing to death last night who is barking in the laundry room) and I know that the loss of each of my friends will be crushing. Even so, I'm glad they have been a part of my life. Each one is unique and have brought us a lot of joy. I'm sure Tex was much loved and brought you the same kind of joy. Hugs to you on a sad day.

Very sorry to hear your lost

Tex-Chan

I don't know you, but I wish to express my condolence for your lost.

My previous dog Prince died four years ago. I have two new dogs now, but I still have tear in eyes when I think about Prince.

You have the right to grief, and it is perfectly ok to feel sad. Just want you to know that you're not alone.

Take care.

Thanks, you guys, for your posts of sympathy and support. I had known this time was coming for a while. I mean, he was an English Springer Spaniel, and quite a large one at that, so he outlived his "expected" life span by about four or five years.

He had been very ill around Christmas. So much so, in fact, that we thought we would lose him then. He managed to rally, and we were blessed with another month with the dear old soul. Late last night, however, he just went rapidly downhill. He started having seizures and could no longer walk. At that point, I knew it had to be time. I am just thankful it happened quickly, since that meant he did not have to suffer very much.

It is hard, and, honestly, I'm not sure how I will get through it. I had him since he was 10 weeks old, and watched him grow from a puppy that would fit into the palm of my hand, into one of the most caring, gentle, intelligent, and beautiful dogs I have ever owned. Suffice to say, if I had the ability to choose one pet to accompany me for the rest of my life, it would have been him. The bond between us was that close. But, I think that makes things all the more painful when that bond is severed -- even if you know it's something that is inevitable. In my heart, I know things are better for him. I am relieved that I no longer have to worry about him suffering. And, yet, I continue to grieve. I just think it's not possible to turn off fifteen years of love so quickly. I hope time will heal the hurt. Until then, I suppose I will just continue to cry my eyes out every time I turn around.

Anyhow, I'm totally rambling here. Sorry for that. Thanks again, everyone for your understanding, your kind, supportive posts, and your wonderful emails. *hugs to all*

Sorry to hear that Tex :( .
I understand what it means to lose a pet. Especially when it's been your companion for so many years.

Very sorry to hear about your canine friend...thank you for sharing that picture. I hope you can take some time for yourself. I'll take any bet that you will get through this, because you had fifteen years of love from this great, big dog. :D

I also hope you don't mind if I put in some late comments about your update... I'm grateful for those lazy-man links, and amazed at the number of wishlist items. Some beautiful stuff there, the Saiyuki and Loveless sketches, the Aya and Mikael cels, and is that a pink frog in the CCS section?? Maybe consider putting this cel with its airbrush layer in the sketch slot so it can easily be compared. I like to see neat airbrush effects on cels.

Best wishes to you and the rest of Tex's family.

It took me a long time to get around to posting in this thread. Mostly because I like to savor your new additions whenever you post them. Lately I've been overworked and exhausted, and couldn't summon the concentration necessary to post sincere praise for your wonderful gallery. I always, always look forward to your new additions. You have such an eye for unique and striking art. You collect several series I have not seen yet, so reading your detailed insights about the anime is a real treat for me. You provide enough information to get me hooked and pique my interest in seeing something new. You also seem to snag the perfect shot of your favorite characters, epitomizing their personalities. Your Weiss Kreuz collection, especially that of Aya in particular, is evidence of that. Same for the shot of Gojyo and Mikael.

The energy in your CCS cels is contagious, especially the pan of Sakura with jump. Lots of momentum, something difficult to portray correctly in a single cel. A series of cels, perhaps it would be easy, but you managed to get a single piece of art that illustrates a great deal of movement. Incredible.

I also really enjoy reading your comments about Toya and Yuki's relationship in the CCS series. I'm familiar with the story, but you managed to make me reexamine their relationship. Even beyond the yaoi theme, you're so right about their intense bond.

I'm terribly sorry to hear of Tex's passing. You know how much I love animals, so I can relate to the emotional zap-age that happens when a pet passes away. Especially one you've had for so long. But know that he was happy, healthy and led the best possible life any animal could. He was surrounded by loved ones.

I lost my Homer (hermit crab) on my birthday three years ago and I felt as though I would never get over the pain. He was my pride and joy for such a long time. I randomly cried uncontrollably out of the blue for over a year whenever I thought of him or was reminded of him. It's pain that still lingers, but it's only because of the deep love we feel for our companions. Don't be afraid to embrace that, remember him and in time, you'll be able to remember him and not cry. The pain will fade but the good memories never will.

If you need anything, you know where I am. :friends:

Aww Texy....I am so very sorry. :l

I completely understand where you are coming from.
It is perfectly ok to grieve about losing a loved companion.

He was a adorable doggie. Just looking at his face shows a lot of character.
He is pain free now and surely with you in spirit.

We love you Tex and dont forget we are all here for you.

*hugs tight*

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and wishes with regard to Tex's death. It means a lot to me, and I appreciate it so very much. :ghug:

Thanks, too, Redwolf and WC for the additional very kind comments about my last update and my gallery. I was very excited about several of the cels in that update, and, then, took my RS gallery offline for a while shortly after I put them up. So, your comments are even more special for this particular update.

Thanks again. :)

Oh no, I'm so sorry about your dog.

Sorry I'm late in this :(

I've lost 2 dogs in my life (more if you count relatives and friends dogs). One died of a collapsed lung, the other my parents "couldn't handle" and gave away :( I know the pain of losing an animal. I have a cat who is sick with diabetes, whom I've had since I was 13, so I know he won't last too much longer.
