As some of you may know I have been working on my gallery design for some time now, but I have never been able to make it look just right, something always seemed missing which a lot of people told me, but now I think I may have finished it.
I added a few images under my left subbanner pluss changed the background, but I would kinda like to hear other peoples opinions cus after looking at it for hours its kinda hard to tell if it works. any comments would be appreciated (the harsher the better)
finally Finished?
Hi
Banner and what-not look fine, always did, but ever since your earlier gallery face-lift (black or white background color), I've wanted to ask what your objective was with the background image? On smaller monitor resolutions your main gallery 'table' covers most, of not all of it and on larger resolutions it starts to tile on the right. Other than that, looks good.

I caught your original color background last night, and thought it looked pretty neat, but only because I use a 1280 resolution. The second one (which apparently just disappeared
) didn't match as much...I think it looks better without the background. Your cool animated banners attract all the attention you need.
If you're going to use a background that isn't designed to tile, you generally have to left-align your page and/or have some control over how the background repeats. Always change your resolution a number of times from between 800x600 to the highest your video card and monitor can handle, just to see how it looks. One trick you can do with a background like yours is extend the black of the right side, so that it won't tile to the right except on those massive, expensive monitors. Unfortunately, your background was already quite large... I tried to see how big it was in KB, but it was already gone from the server.
Best of luck with your website!

Looks MUUUUCH better! The bright colors were just too much distraction for these old eyes of mine.Sparta101 wrote:thanx for the advice, does this look any better?

The black and white on the background allows it to be there, but not so in-your-face. It blends nicely!

LOOKS GOOD!!!
