Kizuna Cel Question

please don't think I'm crazy (maybe I am, but please ignore it)

as some of you might remember there was this very sad story more than a year ago, when I won an eBay auction for my mother with this Cel (+Douga) which never arrives:



got this email:

Hello,

I'm really sorry to inform you of this but your cel got sent back to me and it was damaged beyond recognition.... I about had a heart attack on the spot!! I'm terribly sorry about this, I was really happy that this was going to someone who was going to take care of it and love it as much as I did. (sighs) I showed the mangled up package to one of the employees and she about died b/c she collects cels, too. ^^;;;; So I got a refund on the spot but she had to take the cel into the USPS possession. I'm crushed. I don't understand it one bit!! I packed it up carefully and meticiously and padded it and everything that I possibly could to protect it and it still wasn't enough. I'm really sorry. I've already refunded your money through PayPal. (sighs) I can't tell you how sorry I am. Please let me know when you receive your refund. Thanks.

(by the way ... there was another kizuna cel on ebay ... the winner got nearly the same email and also never the cel)

today I discovered the cel again on ebay (same seller):



asked him per email and got this answer:

Hello sajora ^.^

I figured that I'd be getting a message from you sooner or later. ^^;; This isn't the same cel as I sold to you before (lol, that one really was damaged and I no longer have it) but rather one very very close to it. I believe the last one was A16 or something like that? Well, this one is either right before or right after but I'm unable to tell as the sequence number has been scuffed off. So again, this isn't the same cel as before and yes, you will get it if you win it. ^^;; If you have any other questions, please let us know. ^^

HELLO??? it is the SAME cel ... you can tell me what you want ... it is both A16 ... and I know the owner of A15 ... unfortunately not the owner of A17 ... but to make it even more clear I will add the whole scene:



I really don't know what to do ... only thing left for me is to try to win the auction again and to hope that the seller did not cut of the cel number etc. in order to seem innocent or something like that ... I really pray to every cel god that the story will have a happy end ...

you're so right ... ... but sending it already would be a confession that the seller deceived me and glorff last year ... I also thought of letting a friend of me win this auction for me, so that the seller is not forced to do something to the poor cel ... ...

Thank you! My Dad was helping me package everything and trimmed the top of the cel so it would fit! My Mom saya she'll refund your money if you're not happy. At least he didn't cut the beautiful artwork.

OMG what an IDIOT!!!! Trimming the item AFTER you bought it!? She didn't even give you the option to object. What the hell....

I'd take her up on that refund, or partial refund, from her mom. Or whatever she said there. And explain to her that trimming cels is a HUGE no-no. That's just ridiculous.

I am so sorry this incident had a bad ending, after all. I was really happy to read you had finally gotten your cel ... only to be bitterly disappointed to read it was trimmed -- and AFTER you bought it. I can't believe that.

I agree with what WC said. You should take them up on the partial refund and explain that trimming cels is not acceptable, no matter what size their packaging is. I mean, sheesh. Why didn't they just get larger packing material?

Trimmed...the top? QUOI?!

How can you consider yourself to be a collector when you trim the top of something? That would be akin to selling sports cards and trimming off the name of the person who's picture and statistics are on the card.

I don't understand why she couldn't have just purchased a larger box. I know they do sell large boxes and USPS will send items in boxes that were not purchased from the post office.

If the seller refuses to refund the entire payment and you paid with Paypal, file a claim to get your money back.

I'm not sure if I should give a negative feedback yet on eBay, cause I got no feedback yet ... I'm sure she'll give me also a negative one, if I do so and so my 100% positive feedback will disappear ... (-.-) ...

I have no idea what I should tell my mother on her birthday ... maybe something like this: "hey, I have a good and a bad news ... the good one: I was able to find another cel of your all time wish-scene ... now the bad one: it's a cripple" ... that would be a very great birthday ... ...

Awww That's so sad.

I'd hold off on exchanging feedback. Wait to see what she does about the refund. If she freely gives you a refund, I'd wait awhile and really think about what you should do next (to leave feedback or to not leave feedback). No matter what, don't give feedback to her before she gives it to you. Even if you left positive, there's honestly no way of knowing what she might do. She's clearly insane. Dealing with someone who's not playing with a full deck is hard.

If she refuses the refund, file a claim. If you paid with a credit card, file for a chargeback. I don't know what exactly all of the options are, but explore them and protect yourself. I'm so sorry you had to deal with this psychopath.

I'm sure your mom will be so happy that you tried. It's not your fault and hopefully in the future, this situation will become an amusing story the two of you can laugh about together. Don't let it get you down
