HELP! In desperation for recommendations on port. dvd player

Post by Sugarflower »

I'm looking for one that will play avi files, fairly long battery life, nice sized screen and visual, and costs under $200.00. Long story short, we are currently living with some friends that are against anime/gaming (among a long list of other things) due to their religious beliefs. They don't want me to view anything around them or their two kids so I really need to find something other than my PC to watch anime on. Currently I have to wait until everyone goes to bed at night before I can watch or play anything. I'm going to shribble up and die if I can't watch my anime! :l

So far I've found a Toshiba SD-P1850 and a Mustek (MP100). I've found other pages that stated these two players will play avi files however if anyone has other recommendations then please tell. :)

If I were desperate I wouldn't worry about playing AVI files. Do you have any regular dvds you could watch to get you by?

I bought a regular one that claims to play AVI files, but it looks way jacked on my TV, and not everything works. The type of sound in the AVI matters too. I've actually had to run my files through a program on the computer and reburn the dvds to get them to play with out freezing.

But that could just be LG players.

Hmmm I have no recommendations on portable dvd player. :(

I do however use a PSP and/or a PocketPC when I'm mobile and need an anime fix...
