Celga bidding system question

I haven't bid with Celga for a bit. Recently I noticed that on Celga's bidding page:

The #5. option says:

"5. Notification that you have deposited 50% of your max bid in USD to paypal@celga.com"

Is that a bidding system change from previously? Or are they only clarifying that you need to have money deposited with them before they'll bid for you IF YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH DEPOSITED ALREADY.

I assumed the later, but I thought I'd ask here.

I haven't bid with Celga for a while, but, from what I remember, I used to deposit half my max bid at the time I requested the auction. Usually, if I lost, they would return my deposit, since I don't bid on YJ as frequently as a lot of people. So, I never kept a deposit on file with them. Then, next time I wanted to bid, I would just request the new auction and make a new deposit.

It's been a long time since I used Celga, but I remember it as TC does: send the deposit along with the request.

I'll chime in too. It's been a while since I've used celga but here's how I used to do it. I would request them to bid on auctions. They would reply letting me know which ones they accepted and which ones already had bidders or I was out gunned on. Then, I would send a deposit of half the amount I was bidding. If I wound up losing, they kept the money because usually in a few days I was bidding again so that money wound up being the deposit so I didn't have to give anymore.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like Celga's bidding system hasn't changed any since I last bid. That's good.

If I'm in a bind again, I'll know how to use them next time. I didn't have enough time to figure it all out the last time.

Deposit? Nani?
I've got a gold account though, so that's probably different. I've got it set up to automatically pull from a debit card. If I don't want that, I just ask them to not auto pay, and I pay with paypal after the auction.
