How do you know? What happened to them?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Flonne, you slay me!
I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one that had issues with Evangelion.
The characters just seemed so one-dimentional. The bastard father, the pussy son, bitchy sidekick and emotionless friend.
I've heard a lot of people enjoyed the religion issues, and the "tension". I'm more about characters than plot usually, so those really didn't hit me.

I think the anime's I dislike the most usually are the ones w/ bad/no endings. I've already mentioned gantz, which I think is the anime that made my girlfriend stop watching anime w/ me. Inuyasha, wolf's rain, FY, kare kano etc.. I know for some cases like IY and Kare Kano, it had to due w/ issues of just running out manga so its not that bad (although the IY had been dragging on and on....). But I feel like they could have ended them better like with HxH. It's over but not really over, but yet it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth either. Berserk is an exception to the rule though. It just ended in the worst place possible, but by then I was already addicted and spent the next week searching for manga so I could find out what happened. In cases like Gantz and Wolf's rain, they had me up until the last 10mins of the series. A totally good series ruined in 10 mins. Even now, I'm getting pissed just thinking about it. I always try to give a series at least 3 episodes though. Ermenter Gerad, A-ko, Nightwalker (watched half, skipped to the end and didn't like what I saw) and One Piece (actually about 20 episodes) I tried, but just couldn't get into. But who knows, I may try again after someone posts how good the series was/is. I know with HxH I hated it the first time I tried to watch, but after reading posts at animesuki, I gave it another chance and loved it. I'm always looking for opinions on anime, especailly stuff I wouldn't normally watch. Sometimes its good, sometimes it bad, but thats what its about. I feel like the only genre I don't like is the guy down on his luck and suddenly he has a harem of beautiful women at his beck in call. I do like some Harem anime like Tenchi, but I think its the really cliche ones that bore me, like angel's tail (couldn't even get past the 1st episode).

I thought of something else while reading another thread here.
I have no affection for "magical girl" anime. I wouldn't say that I can't stand it. I just have absolutely no desire to spend the hours to watch it in general. I have no reason to justify this.
The only anime that I own that fits this genre is Pretear. And I think it's just goofy and funny (and thankfully short), so it worked for me.
Princess Tutu doesn't count, because it's a Magical Duck anime.

I've never seen Demonbane(although I'm curious now), and I'm not sure how I feel about Fate/Stay. True it was a cliche harem anime, but I think I was more distracted the flimsy plot, marginal characters, and quasi funny puns. I feel like Fate/Stay was trying to be too many things, and none of them well. Kinda like Speed Grapher. It was this weird sci-fi, drama, action anime with a decent story and little plot twists which keep me watching, but when it was all done and over w/ I wasn't sure rather I enjoyed it or not, just totally indifferent. You should try Fate/Stay Night and Demonbane!

I have had a few animes, that when I first started
watching them, I thought I would hate them, like
Blood+ and Noein. However, I stuck with them,
and ended up liking both the farther into the anime
I got. I can only think of three animes I really did
not like. One was Blood (original), Legend of Duo,
and Kite (Argh - I hated that

Fate/Stay Night is only 1 of the 3 stories for the first Fate/Stay Night visual novel game.wuchild1 wrote:I've never seen Demonbane(although I'm curious now), and I'm not sure how I feel about Fate/Stay. The storyline in the anime is the Saber/Shirou storyline.
The other two storylines focus on Archer and Sakura.
Did you know archer is
shirou from the future? He has come back to kill Shirou. There is a detailed description on wiki. |
I wish they would make an anime of the Shirou/rin vs. Archer "ultimate blade works" story.
That would really be nice

I have pet-peeve with any toy/card-game related anime, ie: Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, BeyBlade...whatever.
But since I haven't watched 'em, I'm not qualified to criticize their storylines.
The one that I did give a chance to yet found to be unwatchable was Cyborg 009.
I know the manga is considered a cult-classic in Japan, and that the art is a throw-back to the 60's Astroboy look.
It's just that between the banana-shaped noses, the pointless recapping of prior events in the first 5 episodes of an already weak plot,
and the endless character posing (damn posers
)...*sigh* I wanted to like this show - but ended up really disliking it.
