Anime DVD's on a budget

Post by Sugarflower »

I recently ventured to Walmart's electronics department and was happy to find the first dvd box set of Dragonball Z (Vegeta or Saiyajin saga) for around $30.00. It's supposed to be uncut however I've heard that Walmarts uncut or uncensored dvds are not really uncut or uncensored. :P I've also seen the first box set from Inuyasha TV version (english dubbed, which is pretty good IMO) and they have had the complete box set of Street Fighter Alpha for $30.00 for some time now.

Has anyone else seen some good deals on anime dvds? I still need to get several Miyazaki dvds. I hope to find then at cheap prices, lol.

Right now? Not really aside from rightstuf ADV sale. I think they have twice a year sale too. I also look at digitaleyes.net once in a while... then the 20% off at deepdiscountdvd.com. I think one time they had two 20% coupon stackable, hasn't seen it happen again. Hmmm... bestbuy stores usually have mark downs too.... But I have no budget for dvds right now. :x

Well, sometimes you can get some pretty sweet deals on Ebay (I got all of Omishi Magical Theater for about $15), but you have to be careful of bootlegs!

Although you have to be really careful not to end up with bootlegs, I've always found amazing deals on Half.com
The same goes for eBay, as well. Good stuff when you can find it, but lots and lots and lots of bootleg discs.

RightStuf has good weekly sales, too - I would suggest signing up for their newsletter.

Check Overstock.com. I got the entire Saiyuki double disk collection (6 in all) for a little over $110. They've got a lot of anime titles, some for under $10.
