Wandering Samurai

Post by usamamo »

So I am into the second part of this series, and I gather quite a few of you guys have watched it so I thought, who better to ask.

I loved the movies because they were so different from other anime I have seen...blood and love :) What a great combination. So I thought I'd watch the series and see how that turned out.

I started to really get into it but as it went on...I keep thinking...just hurt the bad guys...please! I have heard that some like the series better..but I dunno how I feel. I really liked the intensity in the movies, I dunno maybe the third instalment will swing me over the fence.

So blah, blah...my question is...does anyone else feel the same, or am I all alone here? :^^:

Oh btw..I loved hearing Onizuka as the mummy guy. That was so funny.

Are you talking about Ruroni Kenshin? If so, this applies... if not, ignore the very heck out of me :D

Bad guys generally get their comeuppance, but it's really all about Kenshin and his atonement for being one of the bad guys originally. Even if he was doing the wrong things for the right reasons. :)

The series is much closer to the manga in tone, except for the last season's worth of TV show. Which is just ... filler. Not bad at all, as filler goes, but not what should have been there. Nope, for that story you have to watch the movies, which you have. Tail end of the manga is very dark and brooding and highly angst-ridden... and I loved every second of it.

I was wondering what this thread was about as well. Is it about Kenshin?

I love Kenshin! And I love the way you can end conflict without hurting the bad guys.

You just break their weapons... Punch them in the nose... Make them hurt really really bad and not want to hurt people anymore.

But I never want Kenshin to hurt the bad guys, because he does hurt them. Just never kill them.

p.s. Yep! It's kenshin!

Cloud you need to watch it. Then write an essay about the "closing of the curtain". :)

Yeah the ovies/OVA is what I meant too Kizu. I forget that things are different here.
