"Like the wind crying endlessly through the universe, Time carries away the names and the deeds of conquerors and commoners alike. And all that we are, all that remains, is in the memories of those who cared we came this way for a brief moment." Harlan Ellison
Oh wow. It's unfortunate that not much warning is given, especially if the epicenter and focus was over 100 miles away. Japan is on a fault so that definitely doesn't help that matter much. It's a good thing the tsunamis were rather weak, and wasn't a repeat of what had happened in Indonesia back in December 2004.
Hope for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.

I thought it was a mistake when the news man said a 6" tsunami.
J and I laughed at that. How can you tell a 6" tsunami from the normal tide??
When I lived in Okinawa we had a few little earthquakes. I thought some one was shaking my chair at work one day and then I realized it was an earthquake when I saw that there was no one else in the office at the time.
The only crazy thing that happened when I lived there was Super Typhoon Bart.
