Ah, but it will kill you. Chances are, if you're eating a big mac and fries every night, then you're probably not up on nutrition in the first place. That person is clearly not an active individual and shouldn't be eating something like that everyday.
Besides, you're trying to use semantics. Won't do any harm? But it will and it does. It will kill you. It's true that people can eat more as long as they're active, but fast food should not be part of their diet, regardless.
Yes, overeating is an epidemic but suggesting that a big mac and fries every night is ok is misleading. There's almost no nutritional value in a big mac. The fries are even worse. You're going to get a lot of sodium, fat and preservatives but no vitamins, minerals or fiber.
Indulging in junk food everyday will make it all the more difficult to kick the habit. It's better to limit it and control yourself. If you don't know how a food is prepared, then you can't honestly say it's good for you. I order egg beaters at IHOP, which is good, but they cook everything with butter, which is bad.
Ask any registered nutritionist about fast food and they'll tell you the same thing. Fast food is not something you should eat everyday. If anything, it should be treated as it was back in the 50s: something for a special occasion and eaten rarely.
McDonald's MegaMac takes Japan by storm.... haha

I think it depends on the person...
It will hurt you, but if you're a strong enough person... then a big mac and fries wouldn't be able to kill. However if you're weak already then it may kill you.
That's why Saber can eat that many hamburgers and still stay strong...

I think she's saying food! food!
McDonalds is for masochists... It'll hurt you, but if you don't over do it... It can't kill you.

Under those conditions, you are absolutely right. Still doesn't refute what I said. And according to most nutritionists, you should not be getting the bulk of your vitamin and mineral intake from dinner. In most rural European settings, where there is high fat food being cooked, people have a very large breakfast, a small lunch, and a simple dinner. Many dieticians consider this ideal because it delivers fuel to your body when it needs it most.wELCOME cONSUMER wrote:Ah, but it will kill you. A stereo-type is a terrible thing to waste.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

That meal dynamic is ideal, you're right. But you cannot use Europeans as the paradigm. Different racial groups have different ways of breaking down food. Not everyone is effected by the same thing. As I said before, Asians are sodium tolerant but also lactose intolerant. A different racial group will be different, thus high fat foods may react differently with them.blueheaven wrote:Under those conditions, you are absolutely right. Still doesn't refute what I said. Still, to say eating a big mac and fries every day/evening/whatever is misleading. Who cares if it's dinner or not? That wasn't my point and that's not relevant. Eating fast food every single day is not healthy. Personally, it makes me feel like crap when I eat fast food. You really are what you eat, and if you eat crap, you'll feel like crap.
Every meal should be nutritious. Eating one decent meal a day does not give you free pass to go wild and eat garbage for the rest of that day.
Everyone has their own personal physical make-up, based on race, culture and genetics. So each person must determine what dietary practices are best for them. Some people can eat fast food everyday and never be effected by it, both physically and mentally. But this is a rarity and not the norm. If it were, why is food cheaper and more plentiful than ever before? And why is America the only country in the world with overweight homeless people? I never see obsess people gorging or "over eating" on salad. Gluttony is fine if you're eating fruits and vegetables. I've yet to see one person do that. The problem is what we're eating and what we think is ok.
