Cat Owners Help? :P

Post by Nelia »

Ah - ah, gotta edit quick!

I just bought a cat tower for my kitty cats. ^_^ It's about 5 feet high, and has enough room for all 4 cats!

I AM considering getting one of those Litter Maids (The automatic cat pooper scooper). Does anyone have one of these and/or have experience with them that could tell me if they work as good as they seem like they do?

While I have 2 cats I have never used this one. I just do the cleaning the old fashioned way and use scoop-a-way litter. Good luck. I would not mind hearing from people who did it this way either.

I also have not used an automatic one but have mot heard and negative comments about them.

With my 3 cats , I have 2 boxes near each other.

We have an automatic litter box but it's dying (again). We have 8 cats and the thing works non-stop :rollin

I have never used one as well.... I have one cat litter box for each cat (so the total of two).

My vet recommended to have a box per a cat.... :)

I don't have an automatic one either. A scoop and elbow grease is what I use. But I've never heard anything bad about the automatic ones.

MY CAT KILLED MINE /arg

I do not recommend. My cat was so curious about his litterbox that when it would move to clean he would jump in, nothing wrong with that right... you would think. But they have an auto sensor to detect if the cat is inside, so cleaning the box would literally take around 20 minutes with the cat jumping in and out. After a couple of months of him doing this the thing broke and was stuck in the midst of cleaning. Needless to say I reverted back to cleaning the litterbox myself.

They have a mind of their own.

I had one for several months, and it worked well. It took the cats a while to get used to it though. You have to be very careful about the amount of litter in the box, because if you put too much and it ends up between the rake and the place where it's supposed to go up and store itself, then the rake will reverse direction and the thing will go back and forth over and over all day. :( The motor finally gave out on mine, but I had the cheapest version. Supposedly, the newer and more expensive versions have more heavy-duty motors.

What you said was either too complex for me. I'm glad you find this amusing.
