Does your cel/sketch collecting hobby have any effect on your anime viewing habits?
If so...how?

I've heard of it before.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Yes, but that's a different question. I go to several image boards, so I see things from game and manga before they get adapted into anime. And of course, if I like the art, I'll give it a try.Keropi wrote:Have you ever wanted to watch something because you seen artwork from it somewhere?
But, these days, anime is usually available fansubbed so fast that I'll see the first episode before I see much art from the anime. Plus, I don't generally collect from CG shows or even look at many sketches. So, I don't even see much artwork except rilezu cels..which come out after the show is finished generally.

Sorry...I should have added "production artwork" to that question. Considering all the images you run across, the question has a completely different meaning.kymaera wrote:Yes, but that's a different question. True. I hadn't thought of that either. Since you watch so much and don't collect sketches, it would have neglible impact. But, these days, anime is usually available fansubbed so fast that I'll see the first episode before I see much art from the anime. I'm learning something new every day.

You know ever since i started collecting back in Aug my anime watching time has greatly been effected. Before getting into this collection i would be watching anime literally nonestop any free waking momment i had. It was the norm for me doing at leaswt 50 hours of anime weekly. Ever since I started collecting however it has been very spuratic. Meaning some weeks Ill watch 20 some i will go weeks with only seeing a few episodes.. I have yet to return to the normal amount I would watch. At the beginning of collecting (and still now just not as much) I would literally research about cels and sketches nonestop. I rarely watched anime the first month into collecting being completely overtaken by this hobby. Now as I said its supuratic meaning some weeks i watch a good amount some weeks i watch nothing or one or two.. Honesty now it depends on what type of series I am watching and how interesting it is. Before I would churn them out regardless. It wouldn't be false to say i was consumed by anime.

EOP CHANGED his AVATAR!
I start collecting artwork usually after watching the anime.
One exception is probably Demonbane.... I think Cloud suggested DemonSeed and I thought Demonbane would be a nice anime to watch!

Me? Does it please you to believe I said that? Whatever gave you that idea?
