all arguments aside, i would personally love love LOVE a wishlist search engine (if that's even possible? since the categories on the wishlists aren't html linked like the gallery sections are?) but where there's a will, there may be a way...?
sometimes i see a cel that someone else wanted but then i can't remember who... and i think it would help sellers find potential buyers in us. wishlists = happiness! ^_~

LOL...I love how you put me in the spotlight by subtly adding my name at the end of that phrase. If that is the case, then those people who vengefully increase bids become no better than the person who tries to make others look very poorly (especially those people who judge people by their collections, but I'm not mentioning any names), right, Cutiebunny? Very mature, I see...
cutiebunny wrote: In one instance a few years ago, I did increase the bid out of spite because I did not appreciate how a particular bidder was acting towards other collectors. It's hard to break my law enforcement mentality(standing up for others, etc), but I do make the effort.
Your law enforcement mentality? Whoa, if I recall correctly (especially since I have a family full of law enforcement), if a person murders someone, that doesn't give the officer the right to murder that person...so here in your statement, doing something negative to thwart a negative idea, makes a positive? Yea ok...that makes a lot of sense.
But if there's anything else you'd like to add you can always PM me, since I respect the boards and will not thwart to any arguement with you here.

But back to the topic at hand, I think it would be a wonderful idea. There's a lot of members of rubberslug and even with the constant browsing of galleries it is hard to remember who had what on their wishlist. A search feature would be a nice implementation, but Jason is also a very busy man. Perhaps one day it will be a nice little feat to add to the ever-growing Rubberslug.

If you'd like to bring up the subject of maturity, I'll point out that you've been fighting the same battle with me for over two years. Two years. No other RS/Beta member behaves in such a uncivilized fashion.
Get over it. Grow up, SME.
Your logic is flawed. Someone who is convicted of a crime, especially a 1st degree murder, is sent to prison. Those criminals that get sent to prison suffer a fate worse than death. Watch some of the cop shows on National Geographic Channel and you'll see all sorts of delightful things. If I had a choice between death or life in prison, I'd choose death. A prison, in effect, is a punishment, or, a 'negative idea' as you referenced above. If we, as a society, failed to enforce our laws without any consequences for those that break the law, we'd live in anarchy.SME wrote:Your law enforcement mentality? You and I both know that your respect for the board is lacking. If you respected this board, you wouldn't attempt to treat myself and other members here with such disdain. There are polite ways to tell people that they are wrong and then there's the method that you usually default to.SME wrote:But if there's anything else you'd like to add you can always PM me, since I respect the boards and will not thwart to any arguement with you here.![]()
This argument is over. Any continuation of this argument on your part, SME, will only serve to demonstrate the afformentioned points.

Oh my GOD, enough already! I'm sorry but I'm so exhausted today and to get on here and read this bullsh*t has really just pushed my buttons. How the hell is bidding up an auction out of revenge supposed to be "standing up for others"? That's by far the stupidest and most petty thing I've ever read. Please, for the love of god, drop this.
It's not "mature" to carry on some long winded argument and then try to get in the last word by saying "grow up." SME said to PM her, so please "grow up" and do that. Stop ruining this thread for everyone else.
ANYWAY, I don't have a wishlist for points already raised here. Some people get ideas from other people's wishlists or actively seek what others want. I'd rather not share my desires with others, just to play it safe. I'd rather remain a bit of a mystery than be completely predictable with my tastes *hides her GR collection from plain sight* What?

As with many things...a wishlist is a tool that can be used both to help or harm. While there are kind people that will help you, there are also people who will go out of their way to screw with you. I've read posts on here from people helping each other out, but I also remember someone posting about being outbid on a cel solely for the other person to use it to try to trade for something in their gallery they wanted. But, like RF said, I don't think being able to search it would make too much of a big deal. The issue is more on whether you have one or not.

No, that's okay. No need, but thanks.RoboFlonne wrote:If you are looking for something... You can tell me and I'll help look for it!
I'm just going to input the forty seven series into Rubberslug Search every five months like I normally do and see what turns up. That seems to be the most thorough way for me to find stuff. Every once in a while something interesting shows up. **sigh**
I suppose it's better this way than having constant Japanese AND deputy competition, but at the same time it's always been somewhat boring having so few people to relate to about them.

Question:
Is Rubberslug Search able to find anime titles in "Misc. sections" also or only when the anime is labeled ny its own title?
If the cel (or other item) has the anime in the item title or in the item description, it will display in the "Artwork Search" results, that's above the gallery listing results.Keropi wrote:Question:

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Yup.. Basically for me I have to say I dont think it would be a great idea simply because i dont see the rational of sharing your "wishes" with others.. Call me old fashion but I was brought up that when you make wishes the whole purpose was "not" to tell anyone as that might interfere with you obtaining it. A wish is simply a desire that you believe is beyond your reach. Its not a realistic goal but thats the idea that you have "hope" that it may turn up in the future. This among many reasons is why i dont not own a wishlist. I believe its something private.. Everyone is different however if you could use a search to find other peoples "wish" cel etc would be a waste of programming.. Realisticly by using the search for a series if you see the person has alot from the series... Chances are there wish is from that same series.. I am no genius but it makes sense.
But regardless this is just my oppinon

Ah okay. That makes sense. Thanks. I'll have to be sure to pay attention to that section too while I'm going through galleries then.syan wrote: If the cel (or other item) has the anime in the item title or in the item description, it will display in the "Artwork Search" results, that's above the gallery listing results.
I've checked through some already and I've noticed there are a lot more wishlists around than there were when I checked them before. That must have been about two and a half years ago. I guess more collectors are posting their wishlists these days.
True. In most cases it would. But there's another reason why that wouldn't work out too well in my case.EternityOfPain wrote:Realisticly by using the search for a series if you see the person has alot from the series...
