Do you collect cards from your favorite anime? Or used to?
I used to collect DBZ cards. I bought about 5 boxes or so. But lately, i havent. But as i am a big card collector. I probably will buy a few more in the future when i have money in my hands
I used to, but not anymore. All the series I have now are non-anime. My Final Fantasy cards are organized in a binder; and I still have a bunch of Little Mermaid and Simpsons cards I bought a LONG time ago sitting around too.
I've collected some Sentimental Journey/Graffiti, Tokimeki Memorial and Kakyuusei cards before (mostly Senti). But because those games/anime were so old, the card packs cost like $2.75 to $3.50 each. This was about five years ago.
I mostly bought the Senti cards (?15-20 packs) because they had the original character designer art on them. The TokiMemo and Kakyuusei cards had simply drawn artwork on them so I didn't want to buy many of those.
I also acquired an autographed seiyuu Senti card as a collector's item.
I used to collect cards from several things, not just anime. It's been a long time tho, so I guess I've given up on the hobby. Cards can have great art that's fun to scan for wallpapers (scan it in huge for best results). I think prefer cels...
The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Yep...I don't earn much. So all my extra spending money must go to production artwork. By doing this I can go all out specializing on one thing like that spaceship in "Journey to Babel".
I was into InuYasha TCG two years ago, and I'm still trying to finish collecting all the rare cards, but I haven't been at it for a while...other things have taken up my time and interest. I still open the binder to let them breathe every once in a while.
It's funny that this thread should start today as just yesterday I found and secured the last trading card to complete a full Giant Robo set (including all chase cards) I've been working on for almost 9 years! I'm officially done...for now
Collecting cels is definitely less stressful, IMHO, than card collecting. No checklists and far less random.
aaah. i collect the trading cards from Fushigi Yuugi(perfect collection one and to and also the PP cards). Also Kare Kano and Ayashi no Ceres. @_@ I have recently started collceting the cards that come with the Watase Yuu Perfect world Magazines. Man i am a nerd. @_X
I'm a pretty hardcore card collector. If I could find them for decent prices, I would buy more. As it is, I have a couple of tens of thousands of unique trading cards and shitajiki in binders on two six-foot tall bookcases in my living room, and several large boxes of thousands of extras in the closet. But money is tight lately, so I haven't got anything new recently anime-wise. I have been collecting the World of Warcraft tcg and Avatar the Last Airbender tcg over the past year or so. The most recent Japanese sets I've worked on were the CM Fullmetal Alchemist sets. I do admit to buying shitajiki recently. I have to keep up with it or I'll get too far behind. It doesn't hurt as much if you buy every now and then instead of all at once.
I love cards! My first true collecting experience were with cards back when I was very young. I don't collect as much now of course as doujinshi and cels took over.
