Ipod 30GB , is it worth it?

Post by eddiefb3 »

I've been thinking about it. I seen quite a few of these on ebay, Generation 5.5 whatever that means under $200

I wanted to know from those of you who have one or know about it. Is it worth that much???

I know i only have about 3-4gb of music total, but i hear it plays movies, podcasts and even games.

It sounds pretty cool! but is it really???

Thanks! The one i am using now is a memorex 5 year old model....128mb LOL yea.......i can imagine the 30gb now....

I'd hold off for a while. 30GB isnt that much if you are going to play movies and TV. Also, it doesn't have a widescreen, and it scratches easily. Wait a year until they make an 80GB widescreen version.

Toshiba just relased the Gigabeat. It is about half the price, has a better screen, is easier to use, is more compact than the Ipod, and doesn't scratch as easily.

I have one. Got it for Christmas two years ago and I love it. :love2 It's my constant compainion. I don't have a lot of stuff on it, about 700 songs 2 full length movies, a few shorts, a bunch of podcasts I subscribe to, about 30 pictures and a few of my favorite cels. As far as games go I only have what came on it but I don't play them. I have my international clocks set to Tokyo, New York and Dublin so I know when auctions end, and my in-laws are up.

It is my first ipod so maybe I'm a little over-awed at it, but I do love it. /kis

The screen is easily scratched but other than that I don't have a lot of complaints about it.

I got one for my birthday in March and mostly have music and a few tv shows on it. I have been able to put scans of my cels on it though so I don't have to carry my cel books around am still able to show people my collection. They do scratch easily but I have kept mine in a case so far I haven't had any problems.

I got my white version shortly after they released. I couldn't be happier with it. :^^: It's true they scratch easily but if you always keep it in a case, like I do with mine, then you shouldn't have any problems with it. Keep us posted on what you decide on.

As the proud owner of a 30 gb Black iPod video myself, I'd say go for it :D I've got 2 and a half anime series (all of Tenjou Tenge & HxH, and 1/2 of Saiunkoku Monogatari), 7 full length movies, a handful of my favorite various anime episodes, over 4 gigs of music, and still have a good amount of space left over. After going through and testing a bunch of other mp3 players out on the market (I work for Circuit City :) ) I can say with confidence that it's the best video and mp3 player out on the market IMHO. If you go for it I'm sure you won't regret it
