my best "deals" aren't really deals... a few years ago i was paying several hundred dollars less than what i pay now for TLU cels. as time past, prices have really skyrocketed. X|

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Well, I think one of my best deals would have to be a $2 CCS Fly Card cel that I bought from the now defunct L.A. Mandarake's miscellaneous bin.

I REALLY miss that bin. *sniff* :l

I've had lots of fantastic "steals" in the last year, but one deal in particular recently got me pretty jazzed. As you all know, the world of Ranma 1/2 cels have cascaded down in price in recent years, but I believe there are still some cels that still hold value. After so many years of seeing high priced Shampoo cels from the first TV season for sale, I finally scored a Shampoo cel from the first episode she appears in...for a little over $100 after deputy and shipping fees! The scene is actually one of the first scenes she appeared in in the very first (and acclaimed) season of Ranma 1/2. As soon as the cel arrived in the mail, I got out my DVD set, slapped the DVD into the player and went to the exact frame of the cel and did some very careful comparisons to make sure this wasn't a fake. And sure enough, it matched exactly, line to line, imperfect painting irregularities and all! :D

I just won a Unico In the Island of Magic cel on Rinkya for $1,000 yen. The total was $23 with fees and I'm not going to have them ship it for awhile, waiting to see if I purchase any more cels on Rinkya. I as surprised no one bid on it! I though Unico cels would go for more, but maybe I am wrong.

I'd have to go back and look, but I remember paying about $10 for this Love Hina sketch:

Next time one came up for auction, it went for over $100 (set of three was over $300).

for app. 90$ (the cel) for a Sharon Apple from Macross Plus OVA production cel it's nothing! 8O (and they are key cels with genga... )

(won on Yahoo.JP auctions) and I didn't really fight seriousely to have them... 8)

20 bucks got me this cel:

I thought it really weird that I had no competition for it. Perhaps it was "meant to be!"
