Which series have you started but not finished??

Post by Ronin »

Just wondering really, as I currently have a few outstanding series that I've started, but for whatever reason haven't finished and was thinking of which to restart again. Just wondering whether anyone else is the same...

Noir - Started, watched the first 3 volumes, but need to buy the next volumes to continue...not that motivated to finish it though.

Full Metal Panic - About half way through, have the next lot of DVDs, but haven't got round to watching it.

Gundam Seed - Started, watched the first 15ish episodes, but the next disc was faulty and haven't got round to replacing or sorting it out.

Excel Saga - Bought the whole series, watched the first 5ish episodes, but couldn't continue...one day I imagine I'll finish it though.

Naruto - Watched the first 3 volumes released on UK DVD, but desperately awaiting the next.

Hmmm…now that I’ve thought about it, there’s a lot more than I first thought. So anyone else?

A ton. Sometimes I just get bored with it. Sometimes I just find I'm never in the mood for a show that might be scary/dark/depressing, especially since I'm usually watching stuff at night before bed and I prefer to have good dreams. Sometimes I can't find the next disc in a store and I'm too lazy to order by mail. Sometimes I've heard bad things about the last episode or story arc, so I quit while I'm ahead. ;) And sometimes I just don't want to series to end, so I put off watching the last episode for no real reason. It's actually a really bad habit of mine.

I don't like leaving shows on the fence, but I do it anyway. :P

There are a lot of shows I haven't finished, but they're usually unfinished because I lost interest in them and dropped them. Sometimes series are unfinished because I already have a good idea on how much I like the show so I don't have a big need to watch the rest of it right away. I'd rather concentrate on the anime I'm on the fence on.

The anime I think I should get back to the most right now are:

Claymore
Initial D Fourth Stage
Kita e ~ Diamond Dust Drops
La Corda D'Oro
Maico 2010
Maria-sama
Noir
One Piece
R.O.D. TV series
Romance is in the Flash of the Sword
School Rumble 2nd Season
Speed Grapher
Tsukuyomi Moon Phase
Twin Spica

I don't think I'll ever finish Utena and Death Note so those two series will be everlasting in my mind. :)

There are quite a few that I have started but will likely never finish.

Samari 7
Basilisk
Hikaru no go
Melody of Oblivion
Tactics
Gravitation
Peace Maker Kurogane
Neo Genesis Evangelion
Gungrave
Inu Yasha (stopped at about episode 100)
Flame of Rekka
Chrono Crusade
Trinity Blood
Maison Ikkoku
Ranma 1/2
Elfen Lied

and please don't shoot me

Sailor Moon
Dragonball

That's all I can remember for now but I'm sure that there are more. I guess I'm too hard to please.

Kare Kano / His or Her Circumstance - God I Hated this anime with a passion..

Naruto - Stopped around episode 135. Got old.

Bleach - Stopped around episode 60 (or whenver that arc of Rukia ended). When fillers hit I stopped, haven't bothered continuing even though fillers have stopped.

Prince Of Tennis - Generally I really like sports anime series. However this series I just hated. Stopped at around 50 maybe less.

I have a few of those:

Card Captor Sakura-I stopped watching because it was taking forever for them to come out on DVD. This one is on the top of list to finish though.

His and Her Circumstances- I watched all the way to the next to last disk and couldn't watch it anymore

Trinity Blood-I just got confused with there being so many new charchters being introduced and I got bored.

Kenshin-I have tried to start watching this show several times but can't make it past episode 10.

Hikaru no Go-I got to episode 20 then started watching other things and haven't come back to it yet.[/b]

I also haven't finished Kare Kano, and it's at the bottom of my list of things to watch.

I need to finish Princess Tutu. I actually only need to watch the last episode, but haven't taken the time to do it. If I needed to watch more maybe it would seem more productive to finish it.

Gankutsuou, Strawberry Marshmallow, Yu Yu Hakusho, ROD tv, Paradise Kiss, Noein, Fate/Stay Night, GunxSword, and Vandread are shows that I need to finish someday.

I don't count Inuyasha, Naruto, or Bleach. I've seen up to the current ep of Bleach. I've seen random bits of Naruto, but haven't "started" it. Both Bleach and Naruto aren't finished yet, so no one can say that they've seen it all.
I guess Inuyasha really should count, but it's so long that I'm not sure that I'll ever be able to say that I've seen all of it.

I usually try about an episode or two of most any anime, so the list would be way too long to consider making /swt

Great question:

Anime that is complete that I've started but haven't finished watching:
Maburaho
Great Teacher Onizuka
Rurouni Kenshin

Anime that is ongoing that I probably won't continue watching:
Naruto

Anime that is ongoing that I want to catch up on eventually:
One Piece

I think that's it!

Hmmm...now that I think about it too many X| Fun topic though :D

Shows I've started and have no plans of finishing:

Inuyasha- started feeling a bit repetitive in the second season, so just kinda got bored :P
Elfen Lied- Just couldn't really get into it.
Kare Kano- I see I'm not the only one  , sorry it was kinda cute, but a too boring.
Orphen's Revenge- Loved the first season of Orphen...the second I just could not wade through, not even for the love of a favorite character.
Gasaraki- still not quite sure why I started this one /hmm
Death Note: errrr...I just didn't like this one

Shows I'm currently watching or waiting for a release:

Tactics- waiting for release...keep thinking about buying the subbed version
Naruto: I keep getting distracted from Naruto, but I do always come back
Bleach: Been reading the manga more that watching the series, so I know what's going on...without the filler mess :)
Black Cat
Tsubasa
Gundam Seed: I watched this in the wrong order so now I'm just kinda trying to figure out if I'm willing to pay to fill in the holes.
Hunter X Hunter: Haven't watched Greed Island yet
Shining Tears X Wind
D. Gray-Man

The only significant one that I ever just gave up on was Saint Seiya, mostly because of the "book" change sequences getting too boring :?

Maybe someday since I do own the first three import box sets
