What would make you stop look for the art though from time to time? You sound very attractive.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

What are you afraid of?

I'm glad we have that all cleared up.

Re: Collecting of title satisfaction point?
as an animation artist, i like to surround myself with things that inspired me- for me, that usually amounts to other works of animation art. i dont think i will ever tire of it. i have plans of creating an art gallery in my first "real" home.
as for size, i think the availability has affected the size of my collection- ironically, the more cels that are available from a series/film, the more i am inclined to downsize. over the years, ive decided that i prefer quality over quantity.

-At the time, I don't think that I will collect anymore Inuyasha cels/sketches...I guess I seem satisfied...I have not really seen anything that I want, and most of the cute stuff is in other people's clutchesKeropi wrote:Have you ever became satisfied with the cels/sketches you'd gotten from one of your favorite series and so you decided to move onto other shows?

So I am moving on to other shows...until something cute appears ^^
I'll just collect whatever I think is cute...so I guess...Yes I do look for stuff....Keropi wrote:Or do you keep trying to obtain more artwork from you favorite series regardless?
For some reason I lose interest after I finish watching the show...If I'm watching an anime, then I have interest of it, then I shall collect....other shows that stick with me, I'll still collect from...but I mostly try to collect from newer shows...Keropi wrote:Do you continue to have much interest in collecting from your favorite series even after many years have past? I think that the harder it is to find something, the fun-er it is!!!!It's like a huntKeropi wrote:Is the lower supply of quality artwork for sale from your favorite series causing you to lose any interest in collecting from them?

P.s-I have like split personalities with collecting, so what I may like one day, I may grow tired off....But the stuff I have in my gallery is stuff that I RREALLY LOVE!!!And I only want to move a bit of them to more loveing people (these where my impulse buys)....
-I don't really go for quality, I just go for cute and hot looking guys ^_^
So I rather buy a cute leaping inuyasha than a close up shot...Yep ^^

Like some have said, it's the lack of quality cels that make me move on to other series. But if something gd pops up, I'll definitely swing back again.
However, I think there will come a point in time when I'm satisfied with the series and not buy any more.....ok maybe not totally but at a very slow rate. Currently, I'm no where near that point. But then again, it may not be up to me *looks at bank account*

Once upon a time I had a small, but very nice collection of Nightwalker cels... and then I managed to obtain THE ONE. The ultimate #1 dreamcel of the whole series (in my opinion.) At that point I had no reason to ever buy another cel from that series because I was completely satisfied with that one cel. In fact, I sold off the rest of my Nightwalker cels as I simply didn't feel like I needed them.

Re: Collecting of title satisfaction point?
Another good Q, Keropi.
Have you ever became satisfied with the art you'd gotten from one of your favorite series and decided to move onto other shows?
No, there's always more to get and something crucial I'm missing which would make a rounded collection.
Do you continue to have much interest in collecting from your favorite series even after many years have past? What keeps your interest going?
I've collected AKIRA art for about 13 years and still look out for more. I'm not quite as fanatical about it as I once was, but have so much respect for the movie, its characters and overall production that I'm happy and proud to keep collecting it.
Is the lower supply of quality artwork for sale from your favorite series causing you to lose any interest?
The opposite is true. Discovering a few pieces from my favourite series will be a highlight in my day, it's very exciting. If I saw a heap of it every week I'd get tired of it all too quick.

Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Re: Collecting of title satisfaction point?
No I haven't been satiesfied with cels/sketches from my favorite series. I have been at times "on hold" with collecting some series, because I couldn't find anything and moved for a while into collecting one of my other favorite series, but I haven't stopped collecting from any of my favorite series and I'm still on the look out for cels/sketches.Keropi wrote:Have you ever became satisfied with the cels/sketches you'd gotten from one of your favorite series and so you decided to move onto other shows? Yes, I am still very much interested in my favorite series for many years. I have a hard time finding cels/sketches of what I'm looking for and as long as I don't have my "holy grail" I always will be collecting from my favorite series and continue the hunt. ^_^Keropi wrote:Do you continue to have much interest in collecting from your favorite series even after many years have past? I haven't lost interest to collect from my favorite series, even so I am having a hard time finding cels/sketches of what I would be interested in, but meanwhile I collect from other shows that I really enjoy. ^_^Keropi wrote:Is the lower supply of quality artwork for sale from your favorite series causing you to lose any interest in collecting from them?

I do not think that I would ever stop collecting from all of the series that I love. Other than Inuyasha, I only collect from animation that I grew up with and cherish. I love animation so much that I decided to go into it as a profession. My cels and production art not only make me happy, but they also remind me of what I need to strive for as an animator. I started collecting a year ago and I in the past year I have so many periods of satasfaction and sheer happiness - cel collecting makes me feel like a little girl again!
I mainly try to focus on the quality of the cels instead of the quantity. For some animations like Inuyasha, stuff done by Don Bluth, Inspector Gadget, Sonic the Hedgehog and Chipmunk Adventure I would rather hold out for that perfect cel than spend money on minor ones. For others, like Unico and Scooby Doo (Reluctant Werewolf and Boo Brothers) I would probably buy any cel that I could afford.
I actually feel relieved when there are a lack of quality cels on the market. It means that I can keep my money in my pocket for a while or save up enough for when that dream cel comes along. I hate having to choose between cels purchases when I do not have enough money at the moment. Since the animations that I collect from are so different from each other, it can really make the decision process tough. I am kinda going through that right now...
And I there are also so many animations that I cannot afford right now but would love to collect **coughDisneycoughMiyazaki** So I think I finally have a hobby that is big enough for a lifetime!
