Any Cosplayers Out There?

Post by Mat4226 »

Hey all! ^_^

So, obviously the members of this forum are into anime enough to spend quite a bit of money on pieces of it, but who out there likes to take their fandom to the next level? Who all out there likes to cosplay ? (anime or otherwise)

I've only completed one costume as of now, but I'm currently working on some for upcoming conventions. Here's the link:

http://www.cosplaylab.com/cosplayers/co ... eid=154247

Maybe some of you out there would like to share your costumes as well?

That's a really nice Kakashi cosplay. ^_^

I've been cosplaying for quite awhile now, and I love it. Most of my costumes are Rockman / Megaman themed. :3

Wow Great Kakashi costume Mat!!!
/no1
I've been cosplayer since my high school days ^_^

My most recent costume was Kurenai and Kiba from Naruto about 2 yrs ago

Image

thou I had a Sakon outfit in the works, I never got around to finishing it ;_;
:bawl :bawl :bawl

I ended up selling off the wig and top layer shirt. :shrug
The cosplay community in general got meaner and clique-ier
and just soured my attitude to compete or dress up. :P :flipa
(least the ones in Florida did )

I guess its like anything, all good things come to an end!
Bummer /pif

I'll have to dig up my old cosplay.com profile link to post.
Kinda forgot how to search on their engine its changed
so much over the yrs
:emb

Maybe if I go to AX 08 I'll feel compelled to dress up again
I was thinking maybe Karin from Naruto might be an easy one to pull off

P.S. LOVE the Ciel costume Ryoko!!!
Its so perfect O_O

Wow, nice costumes you guys! It's great to see more cosplayers out there. Anybody else care to show off their stuff?

Also, does anybody have a lot of experience in working with Wonderflex? I'm going to be needing quite a bit of it for my next cosplay, and I don't want to mess it up.

Wonderflex is a wonderful material, I made parts of my Harpuia helmet using that stuff. It heats real well with a hair dryer so you can bend and mold it, then stiffens again when it goes cold. I used a thin layer of paper mache using tissue paper over that to help hold it in place and give it a smooth finish for painting.

Ryoko - With the wonderflex, is it easy to cut as well? I'm thinking of getting some for a pair of gauntlets for my Azalyn cosplay.

N/P! Its awesome! /ok
Kudos for also making the hair instead of going w/ trad. wig! :bny
It really adds to Ciel's look and her thick sharp bangs and curls at her
ends of her ponytail.
It all is just soo kawaii just like her charcter! :vict

My friends use to cosplay Megaman all the time and
would complain about the lack of em at the cons so its
always great to see more from it.
:woot: :elephant

(just left ya a comment in the cosplay.com box :D )

oh! I got my password from cosplay.com
heres my gallery w/ the other costumes :)

pixie_princess: It's very easy to cut. ^^ You can cut out pieces with either an exacto knife or a good pair of scissors. I think wonderflex would be perfect for gauntlets. ^^

Shampoo: Yay. ^^ We always have such a good group at Otakon, there's a lot of Megaman fans from around the country and Canada that all get together for this. It's always a ton of fun!

Your Kiba costume is awesome. :D

I'm cosplaying Wolx Hound from Elemental Gelade/Erementar Gerad. Since practically nobody has heard of it, here's a link to the pix:

I'm making the little girl into a plushy that will velcro to my shoulder and making the full size weapon out of Wonderflex. x_x

Great looking Kakashi, mat!
Feel free to post a pic of Wolx Hound when you're done. :D

Looking good as always, Marie-chan! :friends:
Sorry to hear about the clique-ishness. You know you want to cosplay for AX08 though.

Those are really great costumes everyone!!

I want to cosplay, but I have no sewing maching, no space for one, and no time to make something.

I really would like to commission one someday.
My best friend thought it would be fun for us to do the girls from Nurse Witch Komugi (the banner on my RS site). She's flat chested (a running joke in the anime for Komugi), and I'm... not (also brought up in the anime a lot for Koyori). But for it to be done right it would cost A LOT!

Awesome costumes every one! Well impressed!!

I've never cosplayed before, but constant pressure tells me I will have to do Kakashi one day!! :)

I wish I had the time to devote myself to a project like this.
