I can't stop strolling through all the categories. There are just so many awesome entries in each. It'll really be a tough one this year. I totally agree with everyone else. The site looks just awesome!

Suggestion:
I know the site is done but if at all possible since voting isn't for another week, can we have the description of exactly what we are supposed to be looking for in each category (kind of remind not to look at the best drawn cel but at which cel shows the category the best). And remind people, not to look at the particular scene from the show but the actual art itself. Maybe I am just being insane here since I am going off a hour of sleep, so I apologize in advance if this is out there.
Beautiful site by the way and so excited! Thank you everyone who put this together!

Totally unbiased voting is certainly the ideal to strive for, but I wouldn't hold my breath. People tend to be drawn to the artwork from shows that they are familiar with, especially when clear memory of the scene evokes an emotional response... either positive or negative. Can't be helped!

And as a complete non sequitur: Thanks for all of your hard work, WC and Zetsuai! The site looks great.

It all about being objective, just think about the category heading and determine which artwork best represents that in your mind. I for one will be voting for a large number of pieces I don't know the context to. It's not intentional but they merely happen to represent the category best. Art style does play a part in the decision process because certain colouring and compositions work better or can appear less successful in depicting the subject matter.Moop wrote:buttrflym wrote:And remind people, not to look at the particular scene from the show but the actual art itself.

Just go with your instincts and you can't go wrong.

Humans are not always infallible.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I gotta agree with BF, here. I don't think it would hurt to put a brief description of what we are looking for at the top of each page, as well as a restatement of the rules. Each year, voters have gotten better at choosing art that represents the category best.
Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.

Well... for the animated sequence category, would you please use the static thumbnails on the page rather than the GIFs themselves? The page lags horribly for me, and I'm on a cable connection. I can only imagine what the dial-up users are experiencing.Zetsuai wrote:any further suggestions???

I think if you did that then more people would be more willing (and/or able) to participate in the voting for that category.

Also... can the black on black scrollbar be changed...?

I currently have Verizon and it only takes a few seconds for the animated section to fully load.vampyreshoujo wrote:Well... for the animated sequence category, would you please use the static thumbnails on the page rather than the GIFs themselves? I am currently running the newest version of Firefox, on a supposed 56k connection (that usually connects around 33k due to my crap-for-phone-service).wELCOME cONSUMER wrote: I was concerned about the dial-up experience and I'm not sure why it's going so slowly. Almost none of the thumbnail images are over 100 kbs big and I've had no problems on my end but I don't use dial-up. It might be your connection? What browser do you use? I originally thought it might be increased traffic but I'm not sure.Any suggestions from anyone would be helpful at this point because I'm at a loss.
It's alright. I'll just go to the library. I'm just glad that you guys gave two weeks before voting started, because I would have most likely been disqualified for not voting if it had been right away...
And before anyone suggests that I get Broadband or DSL or Cable: AT&T (my phone provider) is unwilling to put a broadband supported phoneline down my road unless *I* pay for it. And I don't watch much TV, so there is no reason for me to spend tons of money just to get high-speed internet from companies that overcharge their customers just because they have a local monopoly.
