so the site works better for you, when you use directly http://www.zetsuai.eu/5thAnnualBetaAwards/ and not http://www.betaawards.com/ ???

I'm not really sure if I understand why ... :? :? :? ...
I'll translate your whole post once more ... :emb ... I'm a little tired today ...

Yeah it does! It loads faster when it uses your domain instead of the Beta Awards one ;) Actually, that might help the few people who have a slowness problem :) If anyone who has the slowness wants to try it out, I'd be really curious if it helps them at all (especially Rei since she got the timeouts).

Good news! Since we've managed to correct the errors in the entries and there doesn't seem to be any more problems, we can go ahead and start voting now! Sajora will activate the voting page on her end once she awakes from Dreamland (which should be soon, so keep checking the site if it is not already working).

She took the time to make tiny pictures on the voting page so you can easily remember what image corresponds to what number. This reference should make the voting process a lot more fun. Thank you so much Sajora! That page really looks fabulous

Type your Beta username as it appears on Beta at the top of the voting form, otherwise your ballot will not be accepted.

Just a reminder, voting for yourself is perfectly acceptable and nothing to be ashamed of. :P

The deadline to finish voting will remain the same (November 24th). I will not remind people to vote and I will not contact entrants who have not voted. If you entered art and do not submit your ballot by the deadline, your entries will be disqualified.

If you experience any problems or have any questions, please feel free to post comments here or PM me.

I've never been able to get www.betaawards.com to load at all. But the other link works. Yay! I can finally see the entries!

Just placed my votes.

Very difficult choices this year (like every year :P). At the end all my preparations on notepad were nearly useless. :P Why? Well, after reviewing each section several times during these days i ended picking different entries each day for many categories. (I have all the txt files that prove it) :o

So..... i decided to pick my 2 favorite pieces from each category (that was already difficult by itself) and decided to test my "taste" in cels asking my coworkers which one they would like better.....

..... and that was a big mistake..... more than one of my coworkers wanted to see all the entries instead of only my 2 picks.... then most of them picked different things in most cases.....

The idea was good, none of my coworkers are beta members and most of them are not very fond of anime, yet alone know what a cel is.... I wanted an impartial opinion from people who didn't know any character or series.... and their veredict was that in many cases my picks were heavily influenced by my knowledge of the series.....

.... example of their typical reaction .....

Me: So, which of these 2 do you prefer?
Coworker: They both look the same.....
Me: No kidding man, you can't compare ***** with *****
Coworker: Hey man, if you want me to choose show me everything.
Me: Ok ok.
Coworker: Ah the design page is very nice....
Me: Sure sure, Sajora will be happy to know :)
Coworker: What is this Hentai thing with a frankfurt on it?
Me: Ah, that's the **** category
Coworker: Hey you, we are at work now......
Me: No need to worry, just a few tentacles here and there.... :P Let's move to another category....
Coworker: Ah, these ones also look the same
Me: Come on man, there are a few repeated characters but their expresion is different.
Coworker: Well, the one i don't like is ****
Me: Hey you, that's my cel and it's the best of all :D

..... and you can guess the rest ..... :x

.... feeling completely defeated i decided to repeat the process of choosing my entries all again..... and maybe some of the things my coworkers pointed out made me choose yet different entries.......

..... so at the end, i can't remember what i voted for several categories..... the damn notepad wasn't there for me to write my final picks, so now i have several txt files and none of them is corrent..... This notepad guy..... when i get him he will have to listen to me......

So well, i wish good luck to all the entries. :)

I just can't remember if it's been asked or mentioned in the rules. :? Are we allowed to vote for items we have submitted for entry?

lol thanks NSP. :D

EDIT:
I just tried to peep at larger images of items #11 and #12 in the romance section and when I click on #11's larger pic I get #12's instead. Then #12 has a broken link.

EDIT #2:
Actually it seems that entries #8, 9, 11, 12, 14, & 15 are all like that. :^^:

I just got done voting. I honestly had a very tough time this year in a few categories. I also had to sit down with a pad and a pencil and mark the best two out of those hard categories and come up with just one. I really loved the animated section! Good luck to everyone! :D

Try clicking on the pictures, rather than on the numbers. ;)

Excellent! With my vote completed I'm looking forward to finding out who owns a few particular pieces once the event's over. There are some crackers that I've not seen before and was left gawping at a couple!
There were also a few I remember seeing on YJ that I monitored and/or got outbid on, so I wonder who the lucky owners are...

Thanks to everyone for showing off their artwork! Oh yeah, and I thought the addition of the thumbnails on the Voting page was cool- nice work Sajora ;)
