I've never traded before :shrug But If I could trade a cel for a sketch or the other way around...I would. There are some awsome Cg shows that don't have cels ;_; So I would not mind getting some of those :D

I did that with Armitage III and although it initially felt odd, I knew the cels were being appreciated by its new owner and I also felt 'free' of its hold over me! Now, no matter how beautiful a cel might be from that series, even offered at a very low price, I wouldn't buy it.
Krafty, let me know if you ever decide to close the Mezzo chapter of your collection, hehe :P

I don't think I would trade a cel for a sketch. Most of my cels I have worked hard (and stayed up many a late night) to get - and that's what makes them that extra bit special, it's the effort put into aquiring them.

A traded piece (however amazing it might be) just wouldn't have the same feeling to me.

Sounds weird huh? :emb

I just added up how much they're worth and if you have US$17,000 spare cash we might come to an arrangement ;)
However since the US Dollar is so weak right now I wouldn't want to sell, *heh*
Just imagine what the Customs charge might be if I shipped them out to Australia!
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Maybe if the sketches come from a CG only show, like Bleach. But I'm still very much a cel person at heart :) although I do appreciate the beauty of sketches, there is so much life in the lines drawn.

Haf never traded before and I'm not sure how to go abt it either, seems kind of risky.

Wow 8O that's a lot of $$...I dun think my entire collection is worth that much. You have a very extensive collection of Mezzo Forte cels. I do like that production team, they have very nice artwork.

No but I've traded a sketch for a cel :wink: I can say honestly that I probably would though. Most of the series I love have only sketches available *cough D Gray Man cough*, and I value some of the sketches in my gallery high above that of most of my cels.

No, I haven't, but I've never traded any of my collectibles.

I'm doubtful of ever conducting a trade because:

1. I'm picky on what images I like and artwork images lose their "specialness" on me quite rapidly (often even before a YJ auction ends).

2. My tastes in anime frequently change and I don't hold the same "favorite anime" for long periods. So by the time someone posts up their items in their gallery I may no longer be interested in the show since I've moved on to something else. In many ways this is good though because I'm not locked into particular series which only bring me frustration because I can never get what I want from them. :shrug

3. I'm less interested in collecting from the more popular series because of past disappointments in trying to acquire items from those shows. So there are few possiblities of trading (even if I wanted to).

4. The most interested in most of the stuff I've been after the last six years are Japanese bidders and I would have great difficulties trading with them.

I regularly receive offers to trade various cels against a sketch I own - but not any sketch:

I turned them all down so far.
