I've actually slowed down quite a bit since getting a car last November. Gas and insurance is expensive. 8O

But, if I have to go with some favorites (ones that are up in my gallery already, anyway; I've got some stuff to scan :hurt: ), I'd have to go with this smattering:

The drink's cool:

Love the expression:

Look! Dryden!

First autograph/original sketch. I am officially a geek. :P

I've got a nice little pile that I need to scan, including some original settei and conti, which are a huge highlight of the year. :D

This was one of THE cels I wanted from this series. When I bought a cel or two about 4 years ago I started looking for cels I liked. Because I didn't make alot I dropped the idea of cel collecting. This was one of those cels I extremely wanted. It did not come with matching background but this was a Kidney for me. SO grateful I got it.

Image
Knowing that if any of the other Tooya with wing cels pop up that are close ups of him will go $1000+ I was extremely happy to get this one. You get to see part of his wings on the side. This cel is just a close up of another cel I have of Tooya in front of the moon. yay

Image
Because I could never afford the cel from the TV series. LOL

Well 2007 so far (I have one large update coming) has been quite a good one for us highlighted by adding 2 new series.

Karin http://ryan.rubberslug.com/gallery/mast ... esID=28500
Shakugan no Shana http://ryan.rubberslug.com/gallery/mast ... esID=31235

I also was able to add many great 3 X 3 Eyes cels like this one http://ryan.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_ ... mID=212805

Several Ah my Goddess cels highlighted by this one http://ryan.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_ ... mID=209597

and many other fun Ranma cels , Girls Bravo and Ai Yori Aoshi sketches.

A few weeks ago I had this question in mind and it's been giving me headaches- what are my favourite pieces from 2007?
I think I bought quite a lot this year, over 300 cels and 200 sketch sets but I scanned one sketch especially for this thread.

Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

This was a pretty good year of art acquisitions for me.
As far as cels go, 2 of my favorites are wishlists (duh! :P):

Personally, I think I did better in the comic art dept. though.

It must be that time of year: I just put up my top ten cel and sketch countdown in my weblog (with just links to save time and bandwidth).

Big surprise: CCS rated no better than #3 in the countdown.

No surprise: Studio Pierrot and Toei were well represented in the listing. Feel free to hop over and read my retrospective, or cut to the chase and view Sensei's Ichiban Numero Uno Most Loved Cel of 2007.

(Even the campus receptionist, who knows nothing about anime but still loves to watch me open big flat packages, stopped when I uncrated this one and said, "Now that one's really pretty!" And so it is.

Even though I sold more in 2007 than I bought, I still have my faves too.

Aki

This screencap was sitting in my wishlist for 5 years when a beta member emailed me regarding it. Although finanically it came at a bad time, I will always love this cel. :)

Amiboshi

I couldn't believe my luck to be able to get yet another shot of my favorite Fushigi Yuugi character. :D

Ken

Another screencap that had been sitting in my wishlist for years. I was bidding against a friend in the BWA but she backed off to let me at him. I can't thank her enough. I'm so happy! 8)

Inuyasha

Dreams really do come true sometimes! I'd admired a cel like this in a friend's gallery for quite some time. And everytime a sequence mate was for sale or on auction, I always just missed it or was outbid. Feeling destined to never have an Inuyasha pinned to the tree of ages, I received an email alerting me to this auction. I had to try for him and I wound up winning. :D I could actually stop collecting Inuyasha cels now. 8O

And finally my 5th fave of the year hasn't made his appearance in my gallery yet. Yes, this might cause more poking for me to update as I received him back in July from a wonderful collector. :^^:

There are plenty other wonderful new additions to my gallery in 2007 but I don't want to "bore" people. But I'll give you a for example since I only linked to 4 cels. :P

OMG! Omi!
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

2007 had me in a buying spree.
My entire FY, DBZ and AnC sections were bought in 2007.
In total I think I bought about 35 cels.

a few of my personal favourites?

This Touya from Ayashi no Ceres

This Weiss Kreuz Aya Eyecatch

As for pure arrogance it would be this perfect SSJ4 Goku smirking right at ya.

And of course this SSJ2 Gohan ready to obliterate Cell.

As for wishlists; this cel of the first ever full length anime movie I ever watched; Windaria. A cel of Izu closing the floodgates of Itha, complete with original matching background.

That is one amazing cel Star-phoenix. :)

Anyways I think I had a pretty great year collecting. In a list of Top three cels of the year it would probably go like this.

1)A dream came true for me with this Nausicaa one :D :

And then these two fantastic sketches from Ghost in the Shell SAC tie:

Major Kusanagi

(thanks again zerospace :^^: for those two fabulous sketches!)

Guess this was my year for OP & ED cels/sketches added to my gallery b/c my favorites include these.

I had tried for thisKenshin ending more times than I would like to admit, but I finally was able to acquire it this year.

I never thought I would see this Inuyasha ending, but there it was at AX 2007.

Thanks to a great beta friend, thisJu Oh Sei opening douga was added this year.

plus I can't forget my Duo OP

I have a few other favorites but I'll just list these.
