I liked the scene of Naruto's parents with Jiraiya and the fact that he named him, but CRAP! I don't want Jiraiya to die!

And we never learned who Pain was.......

what if Pain uses Jiraiya to replace the body he killed

There'd be a throw down like none other if Naruto saw that...

Oy..I totally hadn't thought of that.

Pain does seem to use old bodies.

On a different note I'm assuming that means we'll see the Sasuke/Itachi showdown and the Naruto/Tobi showdowns next. What I'm wondering though is why isn't Naruto told who his parents are? Why is it national security?

thats all I have to say..

I actually cried when I read this chapter!
It was just so emotional

Absolutely LOVE where Kishimoto is taking the manga.

I thought it was totally befitting that Jiraiya named Naruto.
I can see why their relationship and bond was so special
as opposed to Kakashi/Naruto where it seemed more of the teacher/student type.
I always thought Jiraiya treated Naruto more like a son than a student which really endeared me to his character.
But now..

*lip quiver*

*Le sigh*

As for Sasuke/Itachi, at this point I dont care who wins. Someone kill a Uchiha already sheesh! LOL!

Now I just want to see how Naruto will react to all thats been happening and see an end to the manga in half a yr's time.

As for his parents I still have to ask since nobody has answered....

Why isn't Naruto told who his parents are???? Why is it national security????

Maybe only a select few Know? I'm not sure how many people know since I have watched like only 99 eps, and read bits of manga here and there. You would think that if everyone knew that they would treat the kid better.
Maybe they did not tell him since it would devistate him if he knew that the thing that killed his dad is in him. Look at what happened to Gaara, poor kid has issues knowing that he killed his mom.
Or maybe his mom and dad have enemies and they don't want him to get killed by one of them.....or maybe his mom and dads family are evil (and they don't want them to know about him)so they don't manipulate him....
Or the author just wants to mess with us

The reason why nobody has answered is because we're all in the same boat as you. I'm dying to know as well but Kishi will let us know eventually

I agree with Marie's post regarding the direction of the anime. The guy is one heck of a storyteller.

Well, let me go against the grain here. I don't read the manga. However anytime I see GK post something like this, I race over and read the latest chapter. Yeah, I felt nothing. No tears. Nothing. It was more of "oh, okay."

The scene with Naruto's parents just confirmed what I had been thinking since episode 1 of who Naruto's dad was. Other than that, it was kind of dull. I've never been a fan of Jiraiya's so I guess you could say I won't miss him. People die in anime. Now if it were Sasuke's death scene, I'd probably be bawling for a week.

As for his mother:

Didn't Tsunade say she was from the whirlpool country when she was talking to Jiraiya before he left? I also wonder if Pain could be HER! That would be an interesting twist since we don't know what happened to her and she's from the same area.
