I highly doubt those nausicaa cels are real. Each of those ligit wise should sell well over 2k a piece. What do you guys think?

Hmmm, curious. I just watched this movie the other day. The color seems off on some of those cels but I'm definitely not an expert on Miyazaki cels.

They look like those reproduction merchandice cels. I forgot what the exact cuts were, but, they remind me of them.

As for the real cels, none are done by Miyazaki.

The seller also obviously can't be bothered to make their own auction format and has somewhat copied mine.

With good reason. Here's one of the eBay cels and its twin on YJ, and a couple more matches pulled off of the web.

Report them to ebay security!

Post by backlotanimation »

Hello all,
I emailed the person selling these reproduction cels as real and told them if they did not change the ad I would turn them into ebay security.
I hate dealers or persons that try to hoodwink others into buying something they say is real,it hurts all of us real dealers that pride ourselves in selling the real deal to customers.
If you know that something on ebay or any auction site is being sold as real and it's not, Turn there a** in to the mods of the sites.
I will if this person does not change the ad.
If more than one person turns this type of person into ebay they tend to jump right on it,so report there butts.
This is mail and wire fraud and they can go to jail for this type of thing,I've sent a few of these kinds of guys to jail and I hope they rot there!
Can you tell I hate this type of thing!!!!!

They are definitely the reproduction printed pieces. Thhey are relatively nice, but usually go for around $400 for the set of 9 cels and 9 backgrounds in the studio envelope.

Hmmm, I must have come to this post a bit late. Did the seller change the titles to "Replica" just recently?

I was sent a return email through ebay from the seller.-

(Dear backlotanimation,

Thanks you very much for pointing this out. I didn't know it was a replica.
I have changed the description to clarify this.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was not my intention to sell a fake version. But I didn't know the diference.

Thanks again for all.

This is why I always email the seller before turning them into ebay.
