:sweatdrop I finally got bored with the game and ended up sheering sheep on the Asuka shard... talking to random Japanese people. It was fun... LOL Almost want to go back but it just isn't the same anymore.. *sighs* LOL I got bored because my main character on pacific went red and my kill count kept getting higher. Didn't want to play hours and hours just to go blue again so.. yeah. haha

I loved animal taming....

I remember when I first started years ago....

Tamed about 4 cats and rabbits and then went hunting for chicken for dinner!!! Image

Oh... I imagine Ebay doesn't care even if their listings drop 20%. They have no competition and everyone will return after the strike, because we have no alternative.

And that is the end result.

However a lot of infrequent listers will be scared off by these new policies. But they are making so much money these days they just don't give a damn.

This morning they had a jump of 500k up and a lot on the ebay boards think was caused by ebay adding items to their "test account" Id's that ebay has to make the numbers look a little better. More important than the listing numbers is whats happening to Ebay's stock price for thats is whats if anything will force them to abandon their latest moves.
Tsk. That's a rather scuzzy thing to do :x

Check feb. 11th and you can see that the auction count was in the 12kish range. It shot up because of everyone listing because of the cheap fees during that time period. Keep in mind those auctions lasted anywhere from 3-10 days so some of those are still just sitting on ebay's sytem. Now you take a look at yesterday and it is back where it was on the 12th.

So ebay can not just brush off this entire strike and say that it didnt effect anything because the amount of live auctions is down because of the number of listings that are ending from their cheap listing fee day that they offered. Thus the strike being ineffective.

jerks. lol That is my theory at least.
True. That's what I thought when I saw the cheaper listing fees. They also forced you to choose a 5 or 7 day listing period, apparently--so the ending would fall in the time the strike was scheduled to start. No 1 or 3 day auctions. At least, that's what I heard.

Hmmm. So, I wonder how the boycott did overall? I'm really curious.

Anyway, I caved tonight and put up some auctions. Even though NOTHING (well, besides one or two things) I've listed has sold in the several, several weeks I've had them up (even when I lower prices and offer FREE shipping on top of it!), I need the money and I just don't know what to do right now. Still thinking about eCrater, but I'm a little reluctant to trust "stranger" sites right now.

Ebay's advantage is advertising, they can spend millions on advertising and no one else has the money. So you'll need to make a blogger.com account to help advertise. Image

Here's an e-mail from someone I know with a very successful eCrater store. Now she BLOGS ALOT. and that is the ADVERTISING needed.
So basically make a "FREE" Blogger.com blog about Anime Cels and Put in TONS AND TONS of Links to your FREE E-Crater Store. Google will then ADVERTISE for you, since Google likes promoting their own Companies, and Blogger.com is owned by Google! Image
My eCrater stores have been doing very well... I've invested a lot of
time promoting (and still do) and it's totally paying off... all FREE
advertising I might add... for instance starting a free blog, that's
nothing more than a billboard for the eCrater stores... it's easy and
quick... write one up w/a gazillion links to your eCrater stores,
insert some nice pics of your items, use brand names (if possible)...
in other words... use LOTS of keywords and keep it current, so google
picks it up and it stays at the top of search results...

www.blogger.com is owned by google... that's where I have mine...

Good luck all! :)
Here are the stats for Ebay's competition. We believe eCrater is the best choice and eCrater is Growing!!!

Thanks for the info on the different bidding sites Robo..Do you know if there is an alternative to paypal???? In both eCrater and ioffer I see that they accept Paypal. So you can get away from Ebay but not from paypal. kind of funny huh??? :P
Darn paypal can hold your funds for a long time....I also thought that ebay had the highest number of people, but then I see the other options and some surpass ebay....

I also have another auction site to add:
"http://wensy.com/index.asp" they say they also have no fees...and I have bought from there before...

I think eCrater also has Google Checkout, but I don't know anything about it.

Oh, and I have a blogger account, but it's only used as a fandom blog right now (reviewing fansubs, CDs, stuff like that). Would it be OK to also toss in "ads" for stuff I'm selling, or what? I'm a little confused about the idea of a "store blog."

I've sworn off ebay as a buyer and a seller until at least March. Not that that matters to ebay.

googlecheckout is Wonderful!!! Image

https://www.google.com/accounts/Service ... efault_new

Ebay has banned it because they say Googlecheckout is "UNSAFE" lol! They are worried because GoogleCheckout is the paypal killer. Image

And Sugarcel! Basically in your blog... You can say! I love Pokemon!
I have this Real Nice Misty Cel that I just love so much!!!
Hey by the way it's in my eCrater Store! http://www.sugarcelspokemon.ecrater.com/mistycel.html

Then you can talk about another cel you are selling...

It's good advertising and Google bots go in and pick it up and list it when someone googles pokemon cels. Image

What's great is you don't have to pay google to advertise!!!!
