Does Cold cause Line Fading

Post by Elot »

I didnt notice i left a cel book with cheaper cels in a room with window open. Temperature is below 12 degrees everyday for months now. All the cel bags are very cold when touch.

Does cold cause line fading or any effects on a cel?

thanks

No I have not heard of cold causing that.

Line fading is caused by exposure to light and by handling.

You should avoid temp extremes for it can affect the paint to cel bond.

Heat is worse than cold for cels.

Nope, the only thing you have to be careful with is taking the cels from a warm environment to a cold environment and vice versa rapidly. If you do that wont cause line fading but rather paint cracking..

Thats great news! thanks for the info. Now that you guys mentioned it, i was actually more worried about the cracking due to cold :P
