I have been concentrating mainly ont he artworks that I feel will keep in value for much longer. I do still collect from Inuyasha, since it came out in 2000(?). That is actually among the first Anime I collected. But, I have not seen anything really special since Expo last year and I have been really trying hard to save money since I am now right in the middle of the most expensive time of my education.

Maybe the new shows are recycling too many old themes?Keropi wrote: Nowadays I'd only feel like collecting from a several of the shows that I watch every six months because I'm comparing the shows I recently watched to all the other shows I've ever seen. Now even for the shows I recently watched and initially felt like collecting from I could easily lose interest in two to four months after I watched them.![]()

I find that I lose interest very quickly if the show is just an upgraded version of older anime I've seen.

Now if the new Anime is Unique and Refreshing... I never lose interest!!

15 years after watching Akira for the first time I'm still dedicated to it but it's tricky getting anyone to part with their artwork, when they do it is very expensive. I'm glad I got the 200+ cels/douga/genga when I did because they're like golddust now.sletia wrote:The series I probably will never add to again would be Akira and Evangelion.. mainly for the fact it is so rare and expensive.
I'd say that I'm extremely loyal to most of the anime I've watched and consequently collected the artwork from. If I liked a theme, plot and character in an anime that will stay with me for years, maybe for my whole life.
I guess this media just communicates to me on a deeper level more than it does to others who flit from one series to another every so often.
