Oh my god my insurance won't pay .... Closed...

Post by Jadeduo »

Hey everyone,

This is going to be a little incoherent, because I've been crying since I opened my mail.

I have to raise over $800 in 3 days. My insurance which SHOULD cover any emergency room expenses with a $200 co-pay did not pay the entire bill. I got the bill today and the due date on it is September 9th.

With rent due on the first I will have no money to live on for the rest of the month, and no credit cards to help me along, this is probably a good thing... Hopefully I will think so later. And I swore I would NEVER put my gallery up for offers again, for anything. Sorry still crying, I am so devastated this was the only thing I could think to do.

Payment MUST be made by Check or Money Order, sent out by Monday or Tuesday. Shipping is decided on a case by case basis whether insurance is wanted, Delivery Confirmation is of course mandatory...

Gundam Wing

Duo from Odds 'n' Evens - Black Shadow $150

The Perfect Deathscythe Hell $75

I am taking offers on the other two Gundam Wing Cels as they are my favorites, the OP Duo is most likely a Japanese artist's fancel there was a thread on Beta when they were up on YJ two years ago. But I decided to drop a lot of money on it anyway, because I thought I would never sell it.

Dragonball Z - All Gokus, but only nice ones ^_^

I am taking offers on my entire DBZ collection except one, which is hidden (gift), I know I won't get anywhere near what I paid for them, but I'm hoping there will be some takers. Keep in mind I was buying at the heyday of DBZ collecting, I've only bought one cel since, the SSJ4 Goku...

Sailor Moon

Offers only, nothing is taboo here. BUT I will not sell for less than I paid here. I've sunk A LOT of money into my Sailor Jupiter collection. I love each piece.

As for the Cardcaptor Sakura Cels and the Saiyuki... There are certain pieces I own that people will have to pry from my cold dead fingers. I am hiding those. I'm not going to post the links, please go to my gallery if you are interested.

If you want to make an offer please PM me or e-mail me at Jadeduo@gmail.com, or even send gallery feedback.

I am now going to watch something exceedingly happy and try not to cry.

Thank you all for your forbearance with my rambling.

Jade

aw im so so so sorry, Jade!!!
have you talked to them? perhaps you could tell them your situation and they could make up a payment plan for you?
i know one time i had to go to the emergency room (had no ins at the time) and it cost me in the end about $2000.00
i called and said there was no way i could pay that in one lump and they set up a payment plan.

good luck with everything!
i hope your health is okay!

Yeah I would definitely check with the insurance company and hospital to work out something doable. Does it say any penalty for late payment for the hospital? Alot expect people to pay late or over time due to the cost and emergency nature.

OFFER Period CLOSED

Post by Jadeduo »

I'm still sad, but I think this was the right thing to do. The pride and joy of my Sailor Moon collection is going to Cutiebunny.

I will be VERY sad to see her go, but I know she is going to a good home. And if I find out there has been abuse I will come out to find her again and rescue her...

The offer period is now closed, barring anymore natural disasters, or infections which insurance will not pay for. I am happy that I am getting what I paid for it, as SM prices have gone down in recent years, and I was exceedingly worried that I would not be able to raise the money. With the way everyone has been hard up for money lately.

Thank you all for your kind words of support, as well to you especially to you Belldandy the first to reply to my post.

I have missed you all these past two years and I am so happy I am back!

Love you all!

I'm very sorry for what happened, Jadeduo. I'm reminded of how John Goodman, one of the chief advisors to the Republican Party on health care policy, recently commented that the published figures on "uninsured" people were misleading, because, after all, everyone can go to an emergency room for treatment.

True -- it's what happens later, sometimes much later, that gets ugly, as your experience reminds us. I'm sorry for the loss of one of your treasures (though I'm sure it will be cherished and carefully conserved), and hope that your condition, both financial and physical, will come back to normal soon.

Thanks Sensei,

So true, it's absolutely ridiculous, apparently if you don't call in to my insurance company within 48 hours of going to the emergency room, or they don't pay. From now on I'll go to Doctor in a box first and then wait it out 2-3 days, instead of following their advise to go to the hospital.

Everything physicaly is fine now, I'm feeling much better than I was when I went there for Abdominal pain. The thing with that kind of pain in that area is aproblem because there is so much that can go wrong down there especially on a woman, because it could be something else... But all is good. I'm hoping I've done the right thing, but I remember the pain I couldn't even drive I had a friend drive me to the hospital that day.

Oh well bygones are bygones. Financially I should be good the Makoto cel was really the only cel I had to sell, there was one other offer that got in during the time period that I am also going to sell one of the Duo's and then I think I'm going to be good on the selling for a very long time.

Thanks again to everyone!

Back in '06, before I had insurance, I had to go to the ER for something that turned out to be pleurisy (pray you NEVER come down with that, I wouldn't wish it on anybody). The bill was $5K or $6K or some ridiculous amount, but the thing was, along with the bill was an application for financial assistance if I needed it. I submitted the application and in the end I "only" owed $800, which I paid off by having a cel sale like what you're doing.

I'd call and ask if they offer any financial assistance.
