well gosh what did you say you had 10 YEARS of collecting!

so i can imagine how many youve accumulated!

so how's the repairs going along?

The repairing is slow but steady. I need to post the updated videos, but I haven't had a chance to even upload them to my computer. They tore out the walls, leaving the studs. Then they sealed the studs so it wouldn't smell. There is now electricity in the house as they finished the wiring. The insulation has now been put in and the few floor boards that were damaged have been replaced. I think we are waiting on the bathtub next, or maybe the drywall. On the main floor, it has all been cleaned and is a royal mess, with books scattered everywhere. But, at least they are clean and safe. The walls have been scrubbed, carpets have been ripped out and mostly replaced. The walls still need to be repainted. The basement has been cleaned but we had a leak when they power washed the outside so now more repairs have to be made.

Did you know when you get any kind of construction you have to bring the entire house up to code, which is EXPENSIVE. So, the windows that were intact still had to replaced with code windows, new smoke detectors had to be put in, since the old ones weren't up to code (they went off in the fire so they seem to work!) and it is just an endless mess. Ever see the Money Pit? However, it will come to an end eventually, and then we will have a house.

aw man i cant imagine what youre going through!

we had a major water break in our house about a year ago and it took SO long to get it all repaired and insurance to kick in and its just so emotional.

but that was nothing compared to what you went through with your house and your cels.

glad to hear that is progressing well though.

did they give you a timeline when you will be able to move back in though?

Well, prior to the leak that flooded the basement, end of November/early December was the goal. We'll see what happens. I suspect that the walls will be replaced in the basement at the same time they will be replaced upstairs. I think the carpet dried out fine so at least that doesn't need to be replaced!

hey well september's halfway over. leaves just another month after that and hopefully thatll be it. ill cross my fingers that theyll be ahead of schedule!

Well, I finally posted more. I posted all of my Tenchi cels. They are 100% gone, including the former banner for Crystal Rose- that really cute cabbit.

Work has been keeping me super busy! I really can't stand people who complain that teacher's get paid too much because they work such short hours. I have been working so much I'm not getting enough sleep. BLAH!

Hopefully I can do another update next week.

whoever even thinks that is an absolute moron.
with all the extra hours you guys put out just planning lesson plans, etc (i mean you literally have to take your work home with you) and all the money you spend on your own stuff its a crime.
i think someone did a study and looked at all the extra work you all have to do and found out that you only make like $9/hr

(or something like that).

well the moral of the story is,
ignore stupid people, grasshopper. then you shall be happy.

oh and im sorry to hear about your tenchi cels.

may i ask, did your in laws ever go through with what they offered (to pay for your collection)?
