Just wanted to go ahead and update, the fan cel gift is done! The colors are a bit odd in any scan I take but you get an idea of how it looks. Hope this motivates people....

I'm not at all familiar with this series, but was confused by your post. You mean they made several cels of the same shot? If so then they are repro and not rilezu IMO. Rilezu are made from the original production drawings and there are only one of kind unless there was an A-2 in the sequence. Then sometimes there are 2. I've never heard of rilezu having 100+ of the same sequence.

Yeah it has to be a reproduction cel, but with 300 would they be machine made or hand painted? Also I cannot understand why 101+ would be lower quality. Should they not all be the same like bleach and naruto repros which I believe are hand painted, but only 10 are made, although I am not 100% certain on that.

That's a lovely fan cel. My sincerest apologies for it not being enough not for me to give my repro up. I think I'd have to be either in a very tight spot financially or be offered one of the 2 highest cels on my wishlist. Kite is a series I'm not likely to sell any shots from unfortunately.

When I bought it the cel seller had posted the release information about it but, I unfortunately can't remember it now and didn't note it along with the cel. If I come across it though I post it for you or email you. Again I wish you good luck in finding one I've seen two others available for sale in the 7 years I've been collecting.

Also to Goldknight and Sparta the cel (or series of cels in this case) in question is in fact one of a limited edition series of hand painted Hanken reproductions. I can't answer for the quality discrepancy in the later numbers though.

Most prints of art, from my understanding, are created using a digital printing press.

I'm guessing difference in quality of scans caused that thought.

I am the one who has 192.

The scanned picture of the cel in my webpage is a really bad representation of the cel, in terms of colors. That picture in my site is a lot darker than it should be.

I tried several times to make a better scan and even tried my digital camera, but, no matter what I tried, I couldn't get a picture that displays the true beauty of it.

Until I find a better way, the only way to confirm what the cel really looks like is to see it in person (some people have recommended that I send it to them so they can confirm it, hehehheheheheehehehhehehe).

They are hand-painted. And to answer your question about 101 up seeing as 300 were hand-painted by I'm sure a small group of key animators I can imagine you'd get tired and run out of paint etc. Therefore the decline in quality was noticed in color, detail and the likes. It just seemed too sloppy for my taste, thought they're still done nicely.

And ashenfairy I don't expect it to make you want to let go of your Repro. It's more a motivational method for whomever can point me in the direction of one or a token of my gratitude if someone sells one to me.

Again thank you everyone for being helpful and asking questions, it means hopefully my cel will come around just the way I like soon enough.

I know that's not how you meant I just legitimately harbor some feelings of guilt whenever I have a cel very high on someone's wishlist.You want it so much that I want to have a desire to give it up to a certain degree. If that makes any sense.

I understand what you mean, I'm in a situation now where I know someone has a cel of mine on their wishlist, it's only medium priority but is still more than myself as I got it part of a lot, admire it some but am not coveting. Part of me wants to be able to give the cel up to him but I've learned something new about myself. Once the cel is in my possession I feel instantly attatched, maybe because it's a possessive thing? Either way I understand where you're coming from. Just curious, what number do you have and if possible can I see a scan? I wanna see whats out there and how they differ piece to piece.

Lol at the moment we were talking about the video you took of it and how it was a more accurate representation, I meant to send the file of the video so I could take a look at it. Though by all means if you want to send it to me for "inspection" please do XDDDD

It's ok I totally understand you not realizing it right away as it's not as though I'm an active poster here or that my screen name gives any inkling to the gallery I help curate.

I was thinking to myself after I first posted. I wonder how many people are confused about randomly butting into this topic like I know something they don't I almost pointed out in that post that the one you started the thread off about was the one from my gallery just so it didn't confuse anyone
