Cat Cruelty

Post by iwakuralain16 »

I am sure this may end up going to the speakeasy... but... I figured I would try a normal post first.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/09/18/act ... index.html

This pisses me off... If a person would do this to a cat, who is to say they would not eventually take such actions with a human?? I am outraged and I hope they make an example of this asshole! I would not feel bad at all if this guy was put in jail for the rest of his life. He should have been an adult and delt with his issues. NOT take them out on a poor defenseless animal.

I don't think this guy should go away for life, but it's certainly in situations like these where some old fashioned justice is called for. You beat a cat: you get beaten. I think maybe we'd have less animal cruelty that way.

that's terrible. Poor cat. He deserves something, several years in prison, and a large sum of money given to an some kind of anit-animal cruelty foundation.

I'm an "eye for an eye" gal myself. You kill then you should be killed in the same way. I have no sympathy for criminals. Frankly I'd hang them all regardless just because I hate paying to taxes to keep them alive and feed them. Why send them back into society so that can do it again? I know I'm completely irrational on this, but regardless of what or whom you killed you are a waste of space now. That's my opinion. :P Harsh? Yes. do I care? NO.... :x

No, Goldknight, I feel the exact same way. So if you're nuts, so am I. ^^;
There should be no mercy for things like this.

He should go to jail for at least 30 years....YES...he has ANGER problems, and next time he could kill a human....there is not reason to kill another living creature (unless you eat it)

I remember a case here in California where during a "road rage" case a guy grabed a ladys dog from her car and threw it into the free way traffic. If I remember correctly he was given 10 years.

This case sickens me like it does hopefully all who have heard about it. What is next for this jerk , a baby does not stop crying so he throws it against a wall?

I just hope that the "celebrity" aspect does not allow this guy to get off.

Actually, it's more expensive to put the guy to death than to keep them alive....WHY? Well because they spend a large amount of money trying to survive (not get killed) and so they do APPEAL UPON Appeal and in the end that costs more (or so says my old Criminal Justice teacher) than keeping the guy alive....I was thinking that the guy getting molested in Jail would almost even the score, if you add tons of years to that, but since he is famous, he will probably not go into a regular jail.....

In the end, he better get many years in jail. You just can't forgive an act like that, and though I would not really go as extreme as to kill the guy....He should still get a harsh punishment....What he did was horrible, out of anger, and I hope he never works in "the business" again...

-I have a dog, and if someone tried to harm her, I'm sad to say that If possible that person would leave with maybe no hands or something....Maybe possibly some stabbing....Because unless the animal is running rabid and it's trying to kill you, hurting it in any other way is heartless....What a crazy SOB

I'm not counting appeals. I'm saying that they should all die "no questions asked". Like I said....'Eye for an eye" like way way back then. They couldn't appeal then I bet. :rollin Frankly our justice system is a joke.

Two years seems like a very light reprimand for brutally beating a living creature to death. If it had been a human baby they would be locked away forever, but because it is a cat they only get two years...

I totally agree with you: animal cruelty is inacceptable.
I do however think it is a shame that so many people seem more concerned about animal cruelty than cruelty to human, especially children. Thousands of kids die of starvation every single day in Africa. THAT should be on the CNN website, not the cat story, as awful as it may be.

We are helping with that as well, But this is an angry act towards a defenseless animal over stupidity. Just because you are angry with something or someone does not give you the right to kill something or someone they love. While we cannot do much about the children in africa, other then help support them with donations, this hits closer to home as many people find pets as family. He killed this animal due to jealousy....OF A CAT! Its stupidity at its worst and he needs to fry.

While I agree with you, the reason that this makes CNN is because it happened in the USA and our legal system is closely involved with it. As horrible as starving babies in Africa is to think about, it is not a matter of US law.

The most heinous crimes, in my opinion, are when they involve the innocent or fragile: children, animals, seniors, and the disabled.
