Seperate gallery for friends and family?

Post by sugarcels »

Because my family is aware of my cel addiction, I was thinking of letting them know about my online gallery. But at the same time, I'm embarrassed to have them see and read my fangirlish squealing and cutesy decor, among other things (they don't really know this side of me and I'm rather shy ^^; ). I thought perhaps a plain and toned down seperate gallery might work, to avoid this. What do you think? Has anyone else made a new site for this purpose?

I think your Gallery's very cute and nice!!! Image

It depends on your family...

If you're not sure, probably you should just show them your cels and not your gallery. Image

Where I have never made a separate gallery I have altered the title of Vampire Princess Miyu to just Princess Miyu all due to the fact my mother looks at my gallery. She is very against vampires so I wanted to avoid any unnecessary drama. Little does she know the theme of my gallery is from a manga titled Omae ga Sekai o Kowashitai Nara aka If You Wanna Break Out This World which is tragic love story involving vampires, lol.

i think you have a really nice gallery! :D
you should definately show it to them, its what you made so its part of you. you shouldnt be ashamed! :)
definatley show them your collection in real life so they can appreciate it even more (because no matter how good a scan is, imo, it cant hold a candle to the real thing in person).

You have an awesome gallery!

I do understand where you are coming from though. When I first showed my mom my gallery, she replied "I can't believe you're 29, and collect plastic sheets of cartoon characters." :?

I started making her watch InuYasha with me, and she started getting it a little more, though to her it's still a waste of $$. But I love my gallery, with my silly comments, and overload of Naruto. :wink:

I would just show it to your family as is, and let them see your fun personality! :friends:

Depends on the family...I'm sure that I won't show my mom and dad my collection anytime soon, since they know I got a little in debt because of collecting.... ^^;
But my sister knows....but she only saw it once.....
But yeah I know where you come from, I don't want my sister to read my crazy rants either.....

So good luck with showing your family ^0^

I say do whatever makes you feel comfortable. Besides it's fun to experiment in a separate gallery. :)
