Can't they ANALYZE the water to find the antifreeze?
You REALLY need a camera or something even more horrible than that could happen...
I hope he rots in you know where....

I think they probably could.

Honestly, at this point I'd seriously consider moving. He threatened you, poisoned your dog, killed your cat, and is obviously mentally screwed up, and the police aren't doing anything about it. What's going to happen when your child will want to play outside? I wouldn't take the chance. I don't know what the housing market is like in your area, but it might be something to look into.

Hon, you need some cold, hard proof. At this point, the police don't believe you because it's just his word against yours. That will not hold up in court, so they can't exactly arrest him or anything. He might sue them.

If you want to stay where you are, you're going to need proof that he's harrasing you. Go over with your husband to talk to him, carrying a tape recorder in your pocket. That way, if he threatens you, you can turn the tape into the police. Or, carry the recorder with you at all times, and if he comes up to you when you're about to enter or leave the house, turn it on.

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty. :l

If you're pretty sure its antifreeze, that's relatively easy to diagnose. Subtle signs of incoordination and other neurologic abnormalities show up within a few hours of ingestion. Acute renal failure comes a couple of days later. A gross necropsy (animal autopsy) followed by a histology of the kidneys will confirm it. The changes in the kidneys are pretty much impossible to confuse with anything else.

The problem is still the same as before though. Even if you know the poison, its a lot harder to prove that it was him and that it was not accidental.

Hello all

My Husband and I are looking into moving. However for us to move we have to come up with alot of money (Deposit and first months rent) we live in Ca so we need to come up with between 1800-2200 dollars to move.

I know what you mean about my son wanting to go outside and play. He already wants to do that and we dont allow him to go outside in our yard unless my husband is with him. If I go out there with him the guy starts stuff with me. Most of the time I take him to the park or to his cousins house.

It just drives me nuts that the cops wont do anything about it. An come to find out we arent the only ones having problems with him. We talked to our landlord and he told us the guy is a drunk. Drinks all the time and doesnt care what happens. Which freaks me out because he has a 7 year old kid living with him. We have lived here for 6 months and ive ony seen that kid 2 times.

I do have my gallery up for offers an any money I make is going into savings so we can move. Wish us luck.

Thanks again
Dee

Did you just call the cops the times you were reporting your neighbor?

I'd recommend storming into the police station, filing a report, and raising holy hell about this guy. If you raise a big enough stink about it, the police are going to get involved. Just tell them this guy has poisoned two of your animals, has threatened your children, is a drunk, and is endangering his own child. If they won't do anything just take it higher and higher until something gets done.

Reading about this guy makes my blood boil. The lowest level of hell is reserved for jerks like this.

Yep everytime he has done something we have called the cops. We have event numbers of the reports that we have done. An everytime we call we give them all the event numbers. They have still told me that nothing can happen until someone is physically touched/hurt.

They also told us that they cant do anything about the pets that we need to get ahold of animal control. We have called them but havent heard back from them as of yet. So hopefully they will do something. Ill keep you all informed.

Our landlord knows whats going on and said that if he gets another unit up for grabs its ours. However we think it would be best to just move out of the area.

Dee, report the jerk to Child Protective Services.

Might as well since the police won't get involved and the child is being neglected. A visit from social worker might help that child. One could only hope.

It's easy for police or animal services to ignore or forget about phone calls. It's not so easy if you're there in their building raising a ruckus. I would consider doing that before you move. If not for yourself then for the next tenant who might own animals or have a child.

OMG! He did it again!!! Image

Some people are just sadistic! Image

If you could, borrow a dog and a camcorder from a friend.

Have your friend or relatives drive the car out and pretend no one's home.

Hide in your house and record out the window...

Do this 2 or 3 times when he's there and you most likely would have the evidence you need. Image

Just stop the dog before it eats anything...

I think this should be done as well. If he really is a drunkard then just think what this poor child could be going through. Worst case scenario something like this could happen. :l Well, maybe not like this but that child could be going through alot of abuse if you haven't seen much of them.

I hope you are able to move soon Dee. Keeping record of your complaints was a good thing you have been doing. Keep it up and also klets idea of having a pocket size recorder would be something to look into if possible.

Hey everyone

My husband and I have taken the messures you told us to with the cops and CPS. CPS said they would look into it but we havent heard anything back.

However we did hear a rumor that the guy is going to be moving here soon. So lets hope that rumor is true!!! I will keep you informed on it though.

Also I want to thank you all for your help :)
