No watermarks....you can inhance sketches but not too much or they will look like copies....and you can stitch if it takes several scans to get the image.....kizu wrote:1) Are stitched images allowed? Also is cropping out the watermark allowed? I remember before there was a rule that digital enhancement/embellishment was not allowed.
It does not have to lead to death, but should look like it, or great pain. Since some people may not have seen the anime, they don't know if a character is dying and so forth...kizu wrote:2) I am really confused about the death/dead category. It was said that this includes "injured" already. So does the injury have to lead to death? What if one is injured and doesn't die directly from it (but dies afterwards)? Or does this category allows "injury" per se (not related to any death at all)?
Ya....Only Originall Settei are allowed ...kizu wrote:3) Settei... There was a mention of no "copy settei", so does this mean only original hand drawn settei is allowed? Since settei is usually a copy for reference of animators, I guess this rules out all settei that are not hand drawn...
Settei should be added to it...3) If you submit any artwork for consideration in this contest, you must vote for all catagories, with exception of the hentai and animated galleries. These catagories remain optional to vote in and are optional to submit artwork to.
I would think you are correct. Out of curiosity, how many cel-based series' do you know have repros? Before CG, I didn't think too many shows had repros out there (I know YYH has themMoop wrote:I assume that the reason repros are not allowed into the Hanken category is that the ones which have been made are, essentially, copies of already existing cels, rather than cases of bringing otherwise unavailable pieces of artwork to life. In which case...are repros from cel based anime allowed into the other categories? Because they, too, are just copies of already existing cels - which hypothetically means that the original production cel would be disqualified if someone entered the repro first. And yes, I still dislike the idea of any mass produced 'art' in the awards...but this would be the ultimate in bleh.
That would be an interesting situation. But I think the chances of this happening would be slim. The only series I know that used repros cels prior to digital production are FY, saint seiya, and YYH.Moop wrote:are repros from cel based anime allowed into the other categories? Sailor Moon has a few opening repros as well. I'm pretty sure Dokyusei2 has some as well.majinuub wrote: That would be an interesting situation. Also, I agree with you about the idea of letting repro cels in, but I'm thinking of entering a repro myself.
Does it?? I had no idea.zerospace wrote:(I know YYH has them).
So do I - probably somewhere between zero and none.majinuub wrote:But I think the chances of this happening would be slim.
Not sure where I read it, but it went along the lines of "name it whatever you want, since the people in charge will Re-name it"Cordelia wrote:Hi
A few queries:
- do we have to name the file a certain way like last yr when we submit?
- Max width is 600 px for pan cels, what abt the height?
Sorry if these questions were answered before, thanks.
I'll look for a page quote on that one...2) Maximum pixel width size for all standard size cels/douga/artwork is 500 pixels, 600 for all pan/oversized artwork. You may submit artwork that is less than this pixel size, though. Regardless of the size of the item, the total file size can not exceed over 300k. Standard size artwork is roughly 11.89 inches x 9.5 inches (302mm x 241 mm), while a pan or oversized item is much larger than this standard.
"For display purposes, everyone must submit entries that are exactly 300 pixels wide (even if it's an oversized item, painting, or pan). There is no file size (kb) limitation, but I request it be optimized in some way. These 300 pixel wide images will be used in lieu of thumbnails. Additionally, entrants have the option to submit an additional version of this same image as large as they want, which will be made available to voters via a link directly beneath the 300 pixel image.
This method will accommodate dial-up users, so they don't have to click the links, and should also appease lovers of huge images. If a kb adjustment is absolutely necessary, I'll take care of it on my end.
I realize some scanning, re-scanning, resizing, cropping may be necessary to meet this requirement, which is why I'm telling you now. Any submissions received that are not exactly 300 pixels wide or not accompanied by a 300 pixel wide version will be returned to sender and a correction will be requested. Please submit entries without watermarks or logos."
