'Nother update.
Frisky gurgled a little bit this morning when he meowed, but it cleared up on its own in a few seconds. It was strange -- it's the second time I've heard him do that, the other time was last week or so.
Also, recall how the tumor ripped away from his gums and is just kinda sitting there on his lip? Well, I noticed that in the gap between the gums and the inner part of the lip, there's new tumor filling it in =P So yeah, nice pink lump there now. Only apparent if you get a close look at his mouth or see him yawn. Also, his tongue has been pushed to the right side of his mouth, so the tip rests against his right canine. He still eats fine though.
No changes otherwise. Still lovey, still eats like a pig, and still more tired than usual (tired as in sleepy, not tired as in no energy, though I don't think I can tell for sure).
Starting to wonder if I'm doing this for my own sake and not his, but he has NOT given me any signals that he is ready to go, so I'll continue doing what I'm doing, for now.

Posted a bunch of new pics on my MySpace of Frisky:
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... Id=2018453
Anything after September 27th is new -- yeah, I'm getting bad at posting new ones regularly -- and I'm being lazy about taking pictures every day now. Still a lot though, and I was able to get a GOOD picture of his mouth about a week and a half ago (WARNING: graphic):
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... D=36552856
Believe it or not, yes, he eats fine. At least for now.
My last post on the 16th was just before I took him down to the vet again to weigh him. He's lost a little more, he's down to 13.2 pounds, so now he's lost half a pound since this whole ordeal started. And the weight loss is recent in the space of that time too, so I guess I gotta start shoving more food at him (not that he'll mind) ^_^;

Brought Frisky with me to the vet when I refilled his Metacam today. Weighed him again.
12.9 pounds, down from 13.2 just on the 16th.
A third of a pound in twelve days? That's by far his steepest drop, and in such short time... He's been not quite as perky the last few days, and knowing his weight's dropped that much so soon, I'm afraid the freefall is about to begin.
(A note: if cats lose more than half a pound a month, they risk liver failure. If Frisky goes into liver failure I WILL put him down. No way will I subject him to that.)

Everything from the 25th onwards is new. Be warned, though, the last one (taken today, less than an hour ago) may make you cry.

Oh Lordy.
I have the day off from work today, so I figured I'd take Frisky there and show him to everybody, as he was doing ok this morning. But of course, things didn't go as smoothly as planned. That sore spot on his tumor opened up. Ick. Mrs. Roland (store manager, my boss) promptly kicked me out. I was halfway to crying. Still am. I dunno if it's from the fact that thing actually opened up, or because Mrs. Roland told me to get out. Still, certainly not something I expected.
Swung by the vet on the way back home, since it's on the way. Only been three days since I last weighed him, but I figured I was going past it anyway, so I swung by and threw him (not literally) on the scale.
12.8. Down already, if just a little.

I dunno, that's what I'm confused about. I think she just didn't want the fact Frisky was bleeding to freak out the customers. She's an animal person so I thought she would've offered to get a tissue or something rather than say "I think you should go."
Well, at least the spot clotted. Hopefully it won't get infected.

If you work in a place that provides services to members of the public, I'd imagine it's a general health and safety risk to have any sort of animal on the premises. The fact he's sick and was bleeding would increase the public safety risk one presumes. You know what people are like with lawsuits these days. I wouldn't think too much of it, your boss is just executing rules to make sure nothing can go wrong. ^_^

I agree with Nene. It's likely your boss was just thinking about the not-so-understanding customers, though I can imagine it must have been very upsetting for you, and she probably could have been nicer about the way she said it, or at least explained her reasoning. Sorry you had a rough morning, but good to hear the bleeding stopped, and that Frisky is still eating.
