I like that one and Star Trek too.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Also consider giving the series a try--it's pretty darn good fantasy show. It has relatively high production values, is remniscent of Ghibli, and has a few absolutely amazing fight/action scenes.

I was personally thrilled to find a show with a (kickass!) thirty-year old main character in the sea of teenage (or younger) main characters that makes up most of Japanese animation. I believe the show is/was airing on Adult Swim, and the Media Blaster DVDs 1 and 2 are just being released this month.
My votes are all counted for, but I'll back you up on what I've seen of the show (first 8 ). It is nice having a *cough* older intelligent woman who can hold her own in a fight as a main character. :) Starting last week [AS] moved it to the more decent time frame of Saturday (technically Sunday) night at 1:30 am EST and restarted it from ep 1.

I'm glad you're enjoying the show, and I'm glad they're restarting it at a better time. Wasn't it temporarily at 4 or 5 am? Great way to kill even the best of shows...

It's nice having older, intelligent women in general, which I say because another good show popped into my head which doesn't involve fighting (least not the physical kind) -- Hataraki Man ("working man"). The main character is a 28-year old magazine editor. Unforunately, I'd say the chances of the show being licensed for R1 are approximately zero. It is listed on Animesuki.

Anyway, thank you lcatino, syan, and klet. Hope some more people give the show a shot.

OOH! I didn't know that it restarted. I had just heard that AS had quit airing all anime. I had my DVR recording it, but I have seen the fansub and loved every minute of it.

Vote For Balsa in the next round!!

And, go buy the dvds when you get the chance it is a wonderful show with a great story and fantastic characters. Also it certainly doesn't hurt that it was made by Production IG (absolutely gorgeous).
