we recently bought a house and I have some questions
I had a cats' water fountain in the pergo floor and cats' totally made a lake a couple days ago! Now I noticed today that some bumps in the floor! I am so upset and I hope they disappear.... But do you know if they ever dissapear? Or we should replace them?
myself i really dont think so.
when we bought our floors they said never never let water touch it.
but there might be something that you can do to fix them. Is there a place in your area that sells and installs flooring? maybe they would know of some way to repair it.

I was curious as to what Pergo was so I looked it up real quick and sadly this is what I found concerning water damage...
Planks will have to be removed in the affected area. Most likely they will swell and buckle and not be able to be reused. Replacement planks will have to be installed. Do not replace until the area has completely dried out and repairs have been made. Placing a dehumidifier in the area will help expedite drying as will a fan.
Several people commented about the same, basically stating that laminates and moisture are not friends by any means.

You know Kittens I had Pergo/Laminate in my old place and my dog/cat waterbowl did the same thing to my floor. Then weeks later it disappeared. At the time I wasn't sure if I would need to replace it, but waited and it disappeared once it got warm in the room. Now I keep a tray below the bowls so that if water sloshes out, it's caught in the tray.
