Sailormoon Fancel listed as 'Production Cel'

Post by cutiebunny »

I thought I would alert everyone to this auction -

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sailor-Moon-product ... 240%3A1318

This is indeed a fan cel, however, it is being listed as a production cel.

Notice that there are some obvious differences with the screenshot and the cel. The item on E-bay does not have a sequence number. Also, Usagi is wearing a long sleeve outfit(you can see the bottom of the cuff in the screenshot), however, the cel does not have this feature.

It also looks to have the fan cel artist's signature on the bottom too.

Woooow.
I messaged her with this:

"This cel has what appears to be an artist signature at the bottom.

I'm sorry, but this is a fan cel."

And got two emails back:
"excuse me, but if you noticed i put the bidding at .99, and you have no right to report my autions. i said that the cel could be a fan cel. i have had it maybe a year and i JUST saw that signature. and it has been in a sealed container for all of that time. so i am saying this, and i NEVER say this to ANYONE. FUCK OFF ASSHOLE!"

the second email sent an hour later:
"look...i'm sorry for what i said in that last message...i've had a really bad day and i'm sorry i took it out on you. thank you for noticing that signature...i feel so stupid. i always thought this was authentic...i paid $50 for it. liars suck and i'm sorry if i came off to you as one. and i'm sorry about what i said. i'm never like that and i hope you will check out some of my other autions. i checked the other cels and they ARE authentic. again, i'm really sorry."

I didn't report her, all I did was send that 2 line message. o_o I only wanted to give her a heads up that it wasn't original. I'm kind of stunned at the reaction.

Nelia: Wow, I am astonished that this seller would send such an inflammatory e-mail in response to your message! Even if she later apologized, it is still very inappropriate.

Well, the listing has been removed...

Wow, the seller was certainly unprofessional in her response. I also would have reported her. There was no need for her to be so vulgar.

Sadly, it seems that sending the seller a message is probably not the way to go anymore with eBay. Lately, most sellers don't seem to care (and either ignore you or respond rudely like this seller), so simply reporting them is all you can do.

I still wish there were a good alternative to eBay. :x
