yes be careful with ibuprophen!
once i was perscribed it but just never took it (but kept the meds on hand) and later on i took it for something (cant remember what i had) and i never threw up so much in my whole life! >_<

Muscle relaxers won't do anything if your pain isn't caused by a muscle.
The only thing that has helped me (and my just-at-the-top-of-my-butt pinched sciatic nerve) at all has been steroid injections. I just got my second on Monday.
If rest, Ibuprofen and muscle relaxers aren't helping then the MRI will probably tell you what's really wrong.
