Welcome to Beta and good luck with you cel hunt!
Ooooo yeah we are too! 3 /5 of the same sequences what the odds? What number is your bow attack one? Love your collection... you might find a bit of excess drool on your page.. hehe.
Hey that would be so cool if everyone could make an archive of Yue cels in sequence and in eps :)
Great so many Yue fans... too much competition! lol just kidding, it's great to see a lot of fans and that we can share the moments with each other! :) LOL everyone seems to love my Yue & Sakura cel... where's the love ofr the others? :l

I have a had a look at some of your galleries:
Duotrouble: Love that one of Yukito holding up the doll Sakura made and that one of Yue saying "yeah"
Sensei: Love, love, LOVE your collection! Espic love that one where Yue is saying thanks after the transfer. That look on his face is soooo gorgeous!
Cutiebunny: Good work on that movie cel when he's firing his bow. that is a beautiful cel! did you get that recently on YJ?? I saw that but it was just after I lashed out on the Yue and Sakura cel so I was like "noooo!" :P

The worst thing is when you see something while your saving... argh! I'm sure you girls and guys have experienced that many a time!

Star-phoenix: Love it! Wow that frame job is very dramatic! :) My framer did a simple frame so it wouldn't destract from the art.. he even insisted on a plaque :D But yours still looks great though! Do you hang it up or just store it?

I'm very fond of the profile of Yue flying. He looks very ... well ... fighter-pilotish. Lessee ... gotta dodge that flock of snow geese that's coming up on the left so I don't take a bird in the ramjet ... but if I come around them on the lee side, I'll be on the sun side of the bogey and he'll have trouble getting me in his cross hairs ... then I can hit him with a crystal attack ... or ...

My trick is to not look at anything when I'm saving. I go through a period every year when I swear off all auction and sales sites, and simply squirrel away funds. Then when I have a significant chunk to spend, I can be vigilant and watch for the best cels to come along.

There's nothing wrong with buying inexpensive cels and sketches per se: I've learned a lot about the animation process by adopting big messy middens of unwanted art. But it is true, as toonybabe says, that you can also fritter away a lot of money by buying low- and middle-end items constantly. You want to be able (and I stress "able") to add a few top-end items to your collection every year. CCS is a big series, and so if "that" cel comes up at a bad time, trust me, "another" cel will be around when you are able to buy.

(Besides, I really really want "that" cel, anyhow. )

I purchased mine in November 2007 on YJ, so it's not one of the two that popped up in December. I tend to be rather slow with updating items I've won, so it's not uncommon for me to update with items that I've held for over 2 years in my collection.

As for purchasing the bigger items, you just have to pick your battles. There are some items that I wouldn't hesitate dropping money on in a heartbeat, but the bulk of what's availble, I'll either ignore or try to obtain it at the lowest price possible. Also, when buying on Japanese sites, you need to take into account the conversion rate and fees. A $8 item can quickly become a $30 item when fees are added.

Hello and welcome to AB!!

I sold all my Yue cels besides one awhile back. Since im getting out of collecting from that series.

However I did find this cel the other day looking at cels for sale..This cel is just stunning. I also saw it awhile back on this website and he was asking I believe 400.00 for it. However since then he has taken the price tag off it so I dont know if its for sale or not anymore.

Welcome to Beta!

You'll find the best and most thorough of collectors on this board. It's good to see another CCS fan out there. I think that you'll find that you will have a good chance of finding the Yue cels if you are diligent at looking.

LMAO Sensei!!! Fighter pilot Yue... I love it! :D Hmmmm I should photoshop aviator googles and scarf on him xD

Yep, I am choosey in what cels I buy, I don't just buy it for the sake of it. I want something that I know I'll still like in the future. :D Doesn't matter if it's cheap or expensive... providing I can afford the later.. lol

I know what you mean about the fees on jp sites. I got a sketch the other day for 500 yen but ended up spending over 3000 yen in fees etc. :hurt:

OH! 8O Bunny Yue!! I love it! Hmmm 400 usd = 600 au 8O Actually I'm just crazy enough to spend that! xD EDIT NEVERMIND..

That was my first cel Kamidake :) So it has special place in my heart!

I sent an email to the gundam club... 46,000 yen for bunny Yue 8O That's over $700 in my native currency! I'm guessing it's so valuable as it is an end cel and bunny yue is pretty rare... lol but the bg isnt matching!

Ohhh he's got one from the famous scene... matching copy bg, no sketch = 26,000 is that worth it? http://www.gundam-club.com/cels/ccsakur ... -a-053.jpg

Hiya! Welcome to anime-beta. :D

I like the Yue/Sakura cel you have.

Um that looks like a nice cel to me. I have no idea on prices for CCS so I dunno if thats a deal or not. :)

It's at the high end of what most people would pay for that scene, but still reasonable. :)

It seems to be referring to another cel as being the template for all images from the sequence. I can't see the detail on the parenthesis section next to the 'A'(and under the sequence number, A-4'), so I'm guessing that there is another sequence number where a complete sketch exists(the A1?), and the partial sketch(like the one you have) is a modification of the initial pose. So, other than the part of the sketch that you have, there is no variation in the pose.

Ahhh I see, that makes sense ;) Thank you! So that means whoever has A1 sketch has the only full one from that scene.. that would make it rather collectable! :)
