Mary Walker help

Post by felicity-chan »

Looks like Mary Walker may be back in action and I'm the lucky recipient again (last time was in 2004).

I think it's her, but my old files with her address were lost in a computer crash. Does anyone have her address so I can cross check?

All of my old links to her previous scams are dead.

Can anyone provide names of her previously suspended accounts so she can be reported and kicked off?

Thank you so much for your time and help!!! I am so upset about this, I am sick. :l

She was a HUGE scammer in the anime community years back (am I showing my age? :D ). The last time I remember hearing about her was when I dealt with her in 2004.

I can only find two threads on the old Animanga forum (one was mine). But she was discussed quite a lot before that. So much so, that when I saw her name in '04, I knew instantly who she was.

I wish I could find all of the old information....

OMG I remember her. I never got involved with that, but the problems she caused are unforgettable.

All I can say is put tracking (and poss insurance) on everything. I would also check your paypal account directly to be sure you really received the funds.

The only names I could trace are dr_lecter69 (2002) and s-mercury (2004). I know there were more, but it has been so long its going to be really hard to track down.

Is she collecting from the same show as before? I seem to remember she limited herself to a particular one (Sailor Moon? - its really been too long for me to remember)

Thanks for the warning though. She is definitely someone to keep an eye on.

She was a buyer. There was also a rather famous seller/scammer that kept coming back a few times around then too (started in 2003-ish). I haven't seen him in a long time though.

In '04, she won about $45 worth of eBay items from me. Delivery confirmation was still new-ish then and I didn't know about the Paypal loophole that you HAVE to have Delivery Confirmation on packages up to $250 (anything over $250 has to have Signature Confirmation) to be protected.

Well, I didn't have DC on the package and even though she received it (had insurance on the package), she filed a Paypal claim and won.

Paypal did give me my money back when I provided them with proof of her past shady dealings (plus, they had made another mistake), so I was ok.

It's been so long, that I don't remember the specifics of everything else she did, but she did a lot of buying and not paying for items, especially expensive items. She also ran some kind of selling scam on eBay but I don't recall what it was.

She would have an eBay ID, buy a bunch of cheap stuff to build feedback, then start bidding on higher dollar stuff and either not pay or would scam the seller. I wish I still had the list of her known IDs at the time, there were quite a lot.

I hadn't heard anything about her after the '04 incident, but I fell out of the cel forums and community, so I wasn't sure if she'd moved on to scam another group or I'd just been out of the loop on her current misbehavior.

So, it was quite a shock to see her name in my sales info! :o

Yes, yes, yes!! Delivery Confirmation and Insurance all the way!

Before completing the sale, report her as a previously suspended user. Maybe she'll get kicked off!!!

She is! It was a Sailor Moon auction. She also nailed me in '04 for some CCS and some other random anime items.

I have read through some old information about her and it seems she has a habit of sending fake paypal confirmations. Confirmations that look like they are real but when you log onto your account you find out she did not send money.

These could be considered phishing attempts. Be sure to forward ALL e-mails like this to spoof@paypal.com as well as contacting paypal about her fraudulent behavior.

I am overly paranoid and go over and beyond if I have been scammed as buyer or a seller. Last time I was scammed as a buyer I found any other online activity they had and sent it to paypal just to show they were flat out ignoring my e-mails to them asking why they had not sent out my package. Just a "hey they are not dead so I should have my shit by now" 8) obessed. LOL

Thank you!!!!!! :) I will watch any Paypal emails I get from her veeeeery carefully!

Of course, I'm hoping that she'll either not pay or that my reporting her will get her suspended. Because I don't think there is anything I can do to actually cancel the transaction. :l

That is some great detective work on taking care of that scammer! :D
